"ZOEY, TIME TO GET UP KID." I groaned at the sound of my dad's voice as he came into my room, jolting me gently to wake me up.
"Daaadd.." "If you think I'm giving you extra time to sleep in, you're sorely mistaken. Now get ready, I made waffles."
That woke me up completely. "Waffles?!" I exclaimed excitedly, like I hadn't just been asking my dad for extra sleep time.
"Yes now hurry up before it gets cold." Dad slipped out a raspy laugh before kissing my forehead and leaving my room, closing the door behind him. I immediately got up from bed, rushing to my closet to grab my outfit before swiftly making my way to the bathroom so I could get ready.

Once I were done, I did a quick check in the mirror to make sure everything was in order before making my way downstairs to the kitchen, where Vanessa, my older sister and Dad were by the kitchen counter, eating breakfast already.
