  One of the biggest heartthrobs in Hollywood history, Warner Bros. studio documents group him with closeted actors Anthony Perkins and Tab Hunter. 

The studio would arrange dates for the actors to dispel rumors of their sexuality. His longtime friend, screenwriter William Best, also recently admitted that the two had a relationship.
