Malina has had a crush on her best friend, Tytus, ever since they were kids, but Tytus has only ever seen her as a sister. While Malina is determined to fix this, the biggest obstacle in her conquest of love is her complete lack of facial expressions, her face always carries the same blank look, and her voice is always monotone. What's more, she's the one who originally said they were 'basically brother and sister' as an excuse to get closer to him, so Tytus has only ever been following her lead. After so many years of failed advances, Malina was beginning to give up.
But then Titus sees a military recruitment ad to be sent to a strange foreign planet, Basugio, to scout out the territory for the Peldak Protectorate. He jumps at the chance, excited for the adventure, and of course invites his 'little sister' as there's no one in the galaxy he trusts more than her.
Malina quickly seizes the opportunity to spends months, or years, alone in the forests of Basugio with her beloved and agrees. By the end of their deployment, Malina believes, Tytus will finally be in love with her. But Malina won't be the one to confess. As a matter of pride and principle, Tytus needs to be the one to realize his love for her, and he needs to be the one to propose. After being rejected time after time, Malina's self-confidence can't accept anything less.
However, before they can even be accepted into the scout corps, they need to go through advanced physical and survival training. What awaits them is the toughest exercises the Protectorate military has to offer, and a class full of cadets that Malina can barely stand. She makes a lot of enemies very quickly, and somehow has to navigate past all these troubles to win Tytus's heart.
