I've always had a terrible relationship with food. I genuinely disliked eating because of the discomfort and consequences that come with digestion, amongst other things, like eating disorders. However, I've had enough of feeling like shit and learned to navigate through food in a more positive light. Three lessons have kept me going. 1. Food is meant to nourish & energize, it's meant to support all the cells in my body that work hard to keep me alive and happy. If it's not doing that, I'm eating wrong. 2. I deserve to eat, despite how I'm feeling about my physical appearance. 3. It's better to eat something than nothing. If all I'm able to tolerate eating is junk, then junk is better than air & water. Here are some recipes and favourite restaurant items that have kept me going throughout my insanely busy university years. I mainly eat gluten free, through a paleo diet. My body feels the best this way.
