Ganapati is Adidev who took a different incarnation in every era. Their physical structure also has a specific and deep meaning. Shri Ganesh has been called Pranav (Om) in Shivmanas worship. In this Ekakshar Brahma, the upper part is the head of Ganesha, the lower part is the abdomen, Chandrabindu is the laddu and the matra is the trunk.

He has four arms symbolizing omnipresence in all the four directions. He is lambodar because the entire grazing creation wanders in his belly. Large ears indicate more receptive power and small-sharp eyes are indicative of subtle-sharp vision. His long nose (proboscis) is a symbol of great wisdom.

Lord Ganesha is the youngest son of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati. The name of Lord Ganesha's wife is Riddhi and Siddhi. Riddhi and Siddhi are the daughters of Lord Vishwakarma. Lord Ganesha's name is taken before doing any auspicious work in Hinduism.

This is how Lord Ganesha was born

According to Shivpuran, once Mother Parvati had applied turmeric paste on her body before taking bath. After this, when he removed the boil, he made an effigy out of it and put his life in it. This is how Lord Ganesha was born. After this Mother Parvati went to bathe and ordered Ganapati to sit at the door and do not allow anyone to enter.

After some time Lord Shiva came there and said that he has to meet Parvati. Lord Ganesha, who became the gatekeeper, stopped him from going inside. After this there was a fierce war between Shivganas and Lord Ganesha but no one could defeat them, then enraged Shivji cut off the head of child Ganesha with his trishul. When Mother Parvati came to know about this, she started crying and decided to do holocaust. Due to this Devlok got scared, then the gods praised him and pacified him. Lord Shiva told Garuda to go in the north direction and bring the head of any mother who is sleeping with her back towards her child. No one like this was found till a long time after Garud ji. At last an elephant appeared. The body of an elephant is such that it cannot sleep like a baby. So Garuda ji cut off the head of that baby elephant and brought it. Shiva revived it by placing it on the trunk of the child. Parvati was overjoyed to see him alive again and then all the gods blessed the child Ganesha. Lord Shiva blessed him that any auspicious work would be successful if it starts with Ganesh Puja. Declaring Ganesha as the president of all his ganas, he blessed that Ganesha's name would be paramount in destroying obstacles. That is why Lord Ganesha is also called Vighnaharta.
