Death magic is entropy, the relentless breakdown of order over time, the endless road of the eternal traveller... [Satu, 12.3.56]

Above all things, a Deathsage must be patient, for ordered things give up their structure slowly and with great resistance. Life clings to itself with all of itself. This great potential of bound-up energy makes Ordered paths like Flame useful — in the short term.

Chaotic paths like Death and Kinos fare better in existential pursuits. This is not the magic of what is, but what will be. Constants and certainties.

A flint may strike metal and produce fire, but Death aura collects in every spark of light, every flash of heat, every wisp of smoke. Time pays its taxes in Death.

And all things take a toll, all of the time.
