I'm Sad Again...

Around the corner it lies,
Yearning for hope, my heart cries.
Immunized against disappointment's sting,
Expecting the same, a familiar fling.

Each year, the same old tale,
Another loss, another fail.
Once sad and gloomy, now just numb,
Anticipating the outcome, feeling so dumb.

But this time, a flicker of change,
Faith and positivity, a new range.
Optimism blooms, bright and clear,
Dreams of what could be, so dear.

Was I mistaken, hoping too strong?
Expecting too much, was I wrong?
Should I have stayed indifferent, I wonder,
Like every year, avoiding the thunder?

Wrapped in deceit, a deceiving prize,
Another loss in a cunning disguise.
Trying to find contentment within,
But deep down, the sadness seeps in.

I strive to be grateful, to appreciate,
But it's hard when desires dissipate.
Yet, know that I'm here, a listening ear,
To share your burdens, to lend some cheer.

Life's unpredictable, filled with highs and lows,
Embracing the unknown, wherever it goes.
Hold on tight, with love and grace,
Better days will come, a brighter embrace.
