Lights cover the sky,
As we stare through the night,
We live for times such as this.
Like fireworks,
Our lives seem to be.
Short and fleeting,
Strong, yet brief,
But a glimpse in the sky,
A dash in the wind,
We are a tiny particle,
In an all to big system.
Part of an all to grand gesture,
From the world,
A breath,
A dash of light,
A spark.
Our memories dance though the wind,
As life goes by.
At every step,
We are faced with challenges,
With chances,
Opportunities,
New encounters that influence,
Our short lives.
Fueled,
With bittersweet moments,
In time,
Tender silk spiked,
Highs and lows,
We are indeed blessed.
We smile, we shine,
We live, we cry,
Yet our timeline remains the same.
We must shine as bright,
As humanly possible.
So, when the time comes,
For our light to diminish,
May we dwindle gracefully into the night.

PoetryThe purpose of this poetry book is one of defiance. Not to others, or anything in particular. It is against the war we wage internally, against ourselves every day. There is no bigger challenge in life than facing your thoughts, your true emotions...
