I hate being like this, but I really have put this story in my priority list along with the n- number of assignments and projects.

I adore the people who comment, but I want to know about the other (silent) '700 engaged readers' as well... about their thoughts too.

A VERY LENGTHY CHAPTER AHEAD...

Aini woke up feeling refreshed and full of energy after a good night's sleep. But as soon as she registered her surroundings, her eyes flew open and she sat up quickly.

'Hum yahin so gaye the aur kisi ne uthaya bhi nahi' she thought, as she looked around and found her mother and sister sleeping peacefully beside her.

('I slept here only, and nobody woke me up')

The sun had not risen up and she picked up her phone to check the time - 4:15am-

She quietly came down from the bed, instantly flinching because of the cold floor. Gathering her dupatta, shawl and other things she made her way to her room.

.

.

Upon reaching there she found the bed in a state of mild disarray, pillows scattered all around... with the mobile and laptop beside the headboard, pens and markers alongside, and a notebook almost hanging on the side. In the midst of this chaos, she found her husband lay sprawled on his back, sleeping while clutching a pillow. His face scrunched up a little and hairs a mess.

She huffed and walked near the bed. Taking hold of his belongings and other stationery items she went to keep them on the study table, along with her things.

Coming back, she took hold of the blanket to cover him properly. There was still time for morning prayer and after having a good night sleep, she was now fully awake.

'Isliye bade kehte... jaldi so ge toh khud-ba-khud subha jaldi uth jao ge' the reminder came in her mind.

('That's why elders preach to sleep early so that you can wake up early as well')

Not knowing what to do, she slowly and very quietly sat backed against the headboard, to enjoy the tranquility of the moment.

.

.

As she sat there, lost in the silent beauty of the night, Fakhir stirred.

Aini froze, hoping not to disturb his rest. But, to her surprise, he shifted, in a slow movement and turned towards her.

As if his sleepy senses detected her presence, his eyes fluttered opened up a little and he tilted his head to peer up at her.

"Aini" came a whisper of her name, in his drowsy voice.

"Shh... so jao" she said softly while her hand came to pat on his head.

("Shh... go to sleep")

However, next moment only, the room seemed to hold its breath along with her. Fakhir, still in his drowsy state discarded the pillow he was holding and shifted towards her...
