I spent the rest of the day in my room. I didn't exactly know what I should feel. Everyone around me is saying my brother is dead- and honestly, I should be telling myself that as well- but something deep inside my soul tells me that he is still alive.

Maybe I could go find him. I know where The Burning Badlands are, I can ride Jasmine out and find him myself.

That was a crazy thought- there was no way I could survive in the badlands myself; they're filled with terrible creatures, and the temperature fluxes from day to night would be enough to kill someone alone.

But they are leaving him for dead! If you don't attempt a rescue, no one will!

I stared out my window, and prayed to any god that could hear me. I needed to know if this was the right decision- I needed a sign as the god's permission to go out on this adventure.

As I was beginning to give up hope, an owl landed on a tree branch outside my house. The owl stared at me, practically screaming at me to get a move on, hooting out insistently.

I sent out a prayer of thanks to the gods, and prepared my plan to save my brother.
