The God who created the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands; nor is He served by human hands, as though He needed anything, because it is He who gives to all [people] life and breath and all things. And He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their lands and territories. This was so that they would seek God, if perhaps they might grasp for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us. For in Him we live and move and exist [that is, in Him we actually have our being], as even some of your own poets have said, ‘For we also are His children.’ So then, being God’s children, we should not think that the Divine Nature (deity) is like gold or silver or stone, an image formed by the art and imagination or skill of man. Therefore God overlooked and disregarded the former ages of ignorance; but now He commands all people everywhere to repent [that is, to change their old way of thinking, to regret their past sins, and to seek God’s purpose for their lives], because He has set a day when He will judge the inhabited world in righteousness by a Man (Jesus) whom He has appointed and destined for that task, and He has provided credible proof to everyone by raising Him (Jesus) from the dead.

In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself.

He was [continually existing] in the beginning [co-eternally] with God.

All things were made and came into existence through Him; and without Him not even one thing was made that has come into being.

In Him was life [and the power to bestow life], and the life was the Light of men.

The Light shines on in the darkness, and the darkness did not understand it or overpower it.
          John 1:1‭-‬5 AMP

He (Christ) was in the world, and though the world was made through Him, the world did not recognize Him.

He came to that which was His own [that which belonged to Him—His world, His creation, His possession], and those who were His own [people—the Jewish nation] did not receive and welcome Him.

But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the right [the authority, the privilege] to become children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name—

who were born, not of blood [natural conception], nor of the will of the flesh [physical impulse], nor of the will of man [that of a natural father], but of God [that is, a divine and supernatural birth—they are born of God—spiritually transformed, renewed, sanctified].
          John 1:10‭-‬13 AMP

And the Word (Christ) became flesh, and lived among us; and we [actually] saw His glory, glory as belongs to the [One and] only begotten Son of the Father, [the Son who is truly unique, the only One of His kind, who is] full of grace and truth (absolutely free of deception).
          John 1:14 AMP

For the Law was given through Moses, but grace [the unearned, undeserved favor of God] and truth came through Jesus Christ.
          John 1:17 AMP

Just as Moses lifted up the [bronze] serpent in the desert [on a pole], so must the Son of Man be lifted up [on the cross], so that whoever believes will in Him have eternal life [after physical death, and will actually live forever].
            John 3:14‭-‬15 AMP

“For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life.
            John 3:16 AMP

For God did not send the Son into the world to judge and condemn the world [that is, to initiate the final judgment of the world], but that the world might be saved through Him.
            John 3:17 AMP

Whoever believes and has decided to trust in Him [as personal Savior and Lord] is not judged; but the one who does not believe [and has decided to reject Him as personal Savior and Lord] is judged already [that one has been convicted and sentenced], because he has not believed and trusted in the name of the [One and] only begotten Son of God [the One who is truly unique, the only One of His kind, the One who alone can save him].

“Behold, I am going to send My messenger, and he will prepare and clear the way before Me. And the Lord [the Messiah], whom you seek, will suddenly come to His temple; the Messenger of the covenant, in whom you delight, behold, He is coming,” says the Lord of hosts. Then the offering of Judah and Jerusalem will be pleasing to the Lord as in the days of old and as in ancient years.

          Malachi 3:2 AMP

He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and He will purify the sons of Levi [the priests], and refine them like gold and silver, so that they may present to the Lord [grain] offerings in righteousness.

I was reading the book of Jonah and through that book, I first learnt of God's merciful and compassionate nature.

Today, I read it again and He was talking to me through that book, telling me about His mercy that if one really comes to Him with true repentance, He'll forgive Him.

I don't think it takes much time.

Jonah wanted the Lord to judge Ninevah but God wanted Ninevah to repent so He wanted to send Jonah to preach there so that the people would repent and escape the judgment.

Jonah tried to flee from God, not wanting to preach to Ninevah and let the country bear the judgment but God grabbed him and sent him back to Ninevah from where he was running. Even when he reached Ninevah, he preached straight with anger that, "Repent! For the Lord is going to overthrow the city..."

People of Ninevah repented. Even the king respected the Lord and humbled himself with fasting and prayer.

Jonah went to a mountain to see what was going to happen and Ninevah was saved. Jonah was angry. God gave him shelter from the sun which was beating down on him by raising a plant above his head. But the plant withered overnight and Jonah was angry as fell as sorry for it. Because he didn't toil and it came overnight and withered overnight. Yet Jonah was merciful towards that plant.

God, very gently said to him, "This plant grew up in one night and disappeared the next; you didn't do anything for it, and you didn't make it grow — yet you feel sorry for it!"

"Should I not have compassion on Nineveh, the great city in which there are more than 120,000 persons, who do not know the difference between their right and left hand as well as many animals?"
          - Jonah 4:11

For the first time, God left me speechless.

Jesus has always commanded us to be merciful and forgive others so that the Lord may forgive us but this part made me think deeply about it. Even if the person doesn't deserve your forgiveness, still forgive because we did the same things, rather worse.

When it was the first time, it made me cry simply. The message is "compassion" and the Lord is really great in His mercy.

Even now, He's giving chances to repent but nobody is listening. People think they're secure but the day is coming like the day of Noah; people were happy, rejoicing, drinking, and having fun, not knowing that the Lord was planning to send a flood, so the way the day will come. However, the Lord has given us chances. Repent. True repentance will make Him save those people.

Turn from your evil ways, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ!

He came and died for your sins. He has paid the penalty of your sins on the cross. Without His blood, there's no forgiveness of sins. Those who don't believe will be held under judgment which is coming soon.

          Very soon!

Believe in Jesus! He loves you.

@lostlovefairy Because Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Him. John 14:6

@lostlovefairy I'm so happy to know you follow the scriptures (the only truth) but without the Holy Spirit, you can't come up with the whole truth.

You've said well that he doesn't repay us according to our transgressions. They were many, but He sent His son to die for us. If it wasn't Jesus, we'd have gone through hells but the Lord is great in His mercy that He didn't make us go through hells but sent His son for the atonement. But those who also trample the sacrifice of His beloved Son will see His wrath. God has seen and now it's time to repay. People are blind not to see.

And yes! Through Jesus only He has removed our transgressions (as far as the eat is from the west) but if you can't even believe His only Son, that's where He's angry!

Let's breathe in faith through the Lord Jesus Christ!
