The labels are plenty;
Some earned, and some given.
I've shed some, and gained some
For the world that we live in.

Not always patient,
Nor always kind;
Sometimes my attributes
Are quite hard to find.

Whatever you call me -
This, that, or the other;
None matters to me more
Than being a mother.

For him - for my child,
I hope for nothing else,
Than he ignore all those labels
While defining himself.
