after a busy work day ranpo left the scene of crime. he was not so far away from dazai's office, so he waited for the bandaged guy to give him a ride to his apartment
"ranpo-san" dazai waved and called from his car
the detective sat on the car and greeted the younger
after a minute of silence osamu asked the smaller male:
"would you mind if i stop at the souvenir store? i have something to pick up"
"nope" ranpo leaned his head to the window "in fact...I could get something for edgar too"
dazai turned his face to ranpo and gave him a smile, the detective smiled back
edogawa really liked spending time with his old friend, even though they were quiet most of the time, somehow they always understood each other without words
how? no one knows
(a/n. fuck dazai and fyodor duo. if ranpo and dazai were to have more interaction they'd fucking rule the world)
"dazai osamu?" the shop employee approached the bandaged male
"yes?" Dazai asked
"your keychains are done"
dazai excused himself for a minute and went to pay for the keychains he got
ranpo decided to take a look at the store, then something caught his eye It was a two-piece figure of 2 chibi raccoons (a/n. help i had no better idea)
a little time skip brought by the lazy author
osamu and ranpo returned to the car and put on the seatbelts (safety first, kids)
ranpo once again leaned his head to the window:
"so, you're going to visit chuuya"
"you already know everything, ranpo-kun "
"you two have been in love for so long, i don't understand why you two aren't together yet, officially together"
"Eh..." dazai sighed and paused for a while "how is edgar by the way, it's been a while since the last time I saw him"
"he's doing good"
dazai smiled again, he liked talking with ranpo
"i'm glad"
rest of the ride went silent

ranpo knocked the door of his shared apartment, when the door opened he was met with the worried face of his boyfriend
"RANPO"
"hi" ranpo hugged the taller male
"you didn't call me to pick you up, i was worried" he said while planting a kiss on ranpo's hair "i called you many times and tried to find you, but i didn't know where you worked today"
"i texted dazai to pick me up since i was close to his office" he looked up to his boyfriend "...and my phone died when i tried to inform you"
"don't worry about that, i bought a cake for you today, it's in the fridge right now"
ranpo broke away from the hug and rushed to the kitchen:
"THANK YOU EDDIE, I LOVE YOUUU"
poe smiled and poured tea for his boyfriend to drink while eating the cake, he then made a cup of coffee for himself and sat on the table
ranpo stuffed cake to his face and mumbled while munching the cake "YUW DZ BESHT" (you're the best), poe once again, smiled
after they finished their drinks, the couple decided to watch a movie together, but ranpo rushed out of the room and came back with a small bag on his hand
"edd, look, i got these matching figures for us, aren't they cute?"
"very cute, love. i'm putting that on my working table"
"MEE TOO"

they were cuddling on the sofa when poe realized that ranpo was asleep. he didn't want to wake his boy up, so he softly pecked the smaller male's lips and whispered "goodnight, my detective"
ranpo smiled in his sleep and hugged poe tighter
