There is a dark place
It's in my mind
After falling from grace
There refuge I findIt's sad, and horrifying yet gives a sense of home
Don't know what to call this peculiar syndrome
Here my peace and glee love to roam
But aeons old things burn down, just like Rome
Despair surges through my heart at a billion ohmHome is where the heart is indeed
Mine is in a dark pit, unfilled is every need
For some emotions, ready to beg and pleadThere is a dark place
It's in my mind
Darkness, I embrace
Life can never be kindI try to crawl out and run towards the light
However, the most I can do is put up a good fight
I am again tossed in this dark and eternal night
It makes me forget the sensation of delight
I am left questioning if in my life anything is rightI hate it, I love it, I hate that I love it so much
Happiness turns to dread with my mere touch
Weird but I have found a home in Darkness' clutchThere is a dark place
It's in my mind
When I get sick of this race
I turn around and look behindAt everything that crumbled in front of my eyes
I cover my ears as the voices in my head rise
'You belong here, stay with us' They summarise
It is like the castle of Hades in heaven's disguise
It's the sorrowful tale of my faith's demiseI am lost in the dark but at least it doesn't feel strange
After all, glee has always been out of my range
I am afraid not of this dark place but petrified of changeThere is a dark place
It's in my mind
But it's my personal space
That too, one of a kindI can't leave it for I love it with all my heart
So, I will rot here until my dark place tears me apart~~~~~~~~~~~~

Anyway, if you liked this gloomy poem, Vote, Comment, and Share to help me grow as a poet.
