The tea is brewing, the Daturas are blooming in the garden, and it's time to open a new book. Welcome, writers, to our first Wattpad awards.

We always say: don't judge a book by its cover, yet books are one of those items that are most definitely judged by their cover. Not just the cover but also the logline, blurb, hook, and first chapter. That's why we thought the theme, ̶D̶o̶n̶'̶t̶ judge a book by its cover, would be excellent for an award.

Does the cover catch the reader's attention? Would they pick up the book to read the blurb/logline, and would the reader open it to read the first chapter? Once you have them hooked, they won't be able to stop reading.

Datura is a group of writers who love to connect with other writers, share their experiences, and have a place to ask writing and publishing related questions. Whether you write for fun, have a dream to publish, or already achieved the publishing goal. 

With this award we want to give writers the oppurtunity to showcase their stories and give them more visibility on Wattpad. There are so many amazing writers on this platform who deserve more recognision.
