Jacie's POV:

Walking to the car with Aaliyah behind me I unlock the door and open her passenger side door. Once she's in I walk over to my side getting in. "I'm not mad at you ight?" I say starting the car up. She doesn't respond. "Liyah?" I say and I hear nothing. I suck my teeth and put on See You Again by Tyler, The Creator. I tap my fingers on the steering wheel exiting the parking lot.

"Can I get a kiss

And can you make it last forever

I said I'm bout to go to war

And I don't know If ima see you again"

I hear Aaliyah singing quietly. "I said, okay, okay, okay, okie dokie, my infatuation is translatin' to another form of what you call it? Oh yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah, I ain't met you. I've been looking, stop the waiting. 'Fore I stop the chasing like an alcoholic." I sing along looking at her smiling. She smiles and looks at me nodding her head along to the music. "So you faking mad?" I say smiling looking at the road still. "No, I'm not mad, just confused..why were you mad at me?" I think about her dancing on that stage and when I saw her making eye contact it made me mad. "I didn't like you doing all that in front of those drunk ass niggas and then at the club ole girl had me fucked up tryna dance with you. They only want one thing from you and it made me mad. They shouldn't be looking at what's mine" I say. I looked at her as I said the last sentence. "What's yours?" she says, looking at me. "I'm not yours Jacie." She says, looking away. "Aaliyah I know we just met but I swear I will make you mine if you give me a chance I just got so mad that I had to get out of there and I wasn't leaving you behind," I say. I know it's stupid and fast of me to say that to her. But I know Aaliyah was meant to be something in my life and I wasn't about to let any of those thirsty ass mfs look at her like she's nothing but a quick fuck.

The rest of the car ride is quiet and I don't say anything else because I felt like I said enough. I drive to the complex and park in my spot. "Aaliyah, I apologize for reacting that way. I like you okay?" I say looking over at her. She looks at me with tears in her eyes. "Liyah what's wrong" I say, turning. She shakes her head no. I turn the car off and pull her into my lap. "I don't know. It's a lot going on and I don't know how I feel about anything anymore. When we were at your apartment that day I liked our conversation and when we text I like that too. You took care of me that night after the party and I appreciated it. I have a friend outside of my best friend. I love that and I don't want to mess that up because I like you too. But this is new to me Jai." She says sniffing. "Aaliyah nothing will mess us up. I promise okay? I got you ma." I grab her chin making her look at me. "Why did you leave without telling me? She says. " I'm sorry I had work and you were sleeping I- Jacie you didn't talk to me all day I thought you didn't want me or take care of me since I was drunk as fuck" She interrupts me saying.

That night when she was drunk I left before she woke up and she spent the whole next day ignoring me. Granted I should've texted or let her know I was busy and was working. I'm not used to having somebody actually care when I do something. "I'm sorry Ma fr. Like you said this is new to me. I never had someone care like you." I look at her. "It's okay.."She says, looking at my lips. I lean in and give her a peck. Her lips are softer than I expected. She kissed me again but this time longer. I put my hands on her butt rubbing up and down causing her to moan in my mouth. We kiss until she pulls away out of breath. I look at her and she looks back biting her lip. "Well, that was unexpected." She says laughing and looking down. I laugh too. "Girl come on," I say and she crawls back over to the passenger side.
