You are at the centre workstation reading Grant's test results and it's not good it's the most severe strain of the flu. Your thoughts are interrupted by yelling from the waiting room. You decide to get up and see for yourself as to what is going on. You are confronted by an angry man
"excuse me sir but I need you to sit down," you say taking control of the situation
"tell that kid to apologise after all he did sneeze all over me,"
"my son did nothing to you," a woman chimes in
The kid starts coughing violently as Grant did
"Sorry, my son has been sick for the past two days," his mum replies
"let me guess his doctor told you to come here," you remark because of the similarities to Grant's case
"Yes that's right," the boy's mum replies
"Ok come with me," you start to walk back to the ED
The woman and her son follow you as well
"Maggie, can you page Robin Charles for me? Please," you ask as you walk past her
"Yes, I can,"
Two minutes later you have got the kid settled and you are now talking to Robin Charles
"Have you taken blood samples?" She asks trying to get her head around the situation
"Yes and both were positive for the 2BA strain,"
"You need to declare the ED as a quarantine area," Robin confirms your worst nightmare
The code blue alarm goes off. It's Grant
"Excuse me,"
Ten seconds later you have made it and you start chest compressions
"I need some help here," you call out
"Do you need me to do chest compressions?" doctor Ethan Choi asks
"Yes," you trade places with him
You grab the defibrillator
'charging three hundred," you say as you move over Grant's Body
"clear," you give the instructions for everybody to move and they do
You shock him and it does nothing
"time of death 1340," you decide to call it because there is nothing you can do
A minute later you are talking to Robin and Goodwin about declaring the ED a quarantine area
"we've had three people present with flu symptoms and one of them has died and there is a possibility that there might be more on the way," you give them the information you have
"My problem is if we declare the ED a quarantine area we can't accept any walk-ins or ambulances," Goodwin counters
"yes but we run the risk of hospital born infections," Robin backs you up
"ok, then we have no choice then," Goodwin declares
"the ED is under quarantine. All doctors that work there will remain there until further notice,"
