LILITH

Mornings were something else to me.

It normally took me over ten minutes to comprehend what was happening after I'd opened my eyes.

I turned in bed and squinted my eyes at the bright morning sun, the loud noise coming from downstairs making me sit up.

Orion was doing it again.

I slipped my feet into the sandals beside my bed as another yawn escaped me, my eyes closing for a second.

I opened my bedroom door and looked down towards the kitchen where the loud noise was coming from.

It was just ten in the morning and to have Orion blasting the whole house with such loud music was making me angry.

If only Luce and Adams had stayed a while longer. Orion would never behave this way when Lucas was here.

I went down the flight of stairs one by one, my agitation growing when I heard the sound of a pan hitting the floor.

With a fuming face, I staggered into the kitchen with my hands over my waist, ready to give Orion an hearing.

"You better turn that thing off before I pull out your hair and gauge your eyes-"

I halted over my own words, the sight of two men in the kitchen clearly catching me by surprise.

Of course one of them was my very own brother, the other, a very familiar face. His best friend.

My mouth opened and closed as I blinked awake, looking between the two of them as I gasped at the state of the kitchen.

It was all messy. Egg shells were laying just on the counter top, milk had spilled over and there were bread crumbs all over.

"Good morning, little sister." Orion enthusiastically greeted and I pressed down my glare when I caught Lorenzo's eye.

"G-Good morning," I replied to both of them, my eyes lingering on Lorenzo who was holding a pan.

His glasses were off and he was wearing a black knitted sweater that showed off his arms whenever he moved.

I watched him place the pan into one of the cabinets, my eyes following his every action until he turned to me.

We stared at each other for a couple of seconds before he glanced down at my body and his lips pressed together.

He gazed up into my eyes with up-turned lips and I almost returned the smile, had I not looked at myself.

Goodness

One of my pajama legs had risen to my knee, my shirt was a little crumbled at the front and the sock of my left foot was missing.

I could only imagine how my hair looked like after a day of not combing through, so with one final glance, I rushed out of the room.

Orion had to start giving me an head's up if his friend was coming over.

I went up my room to freshen up, the loud music that was previously playing dying out and I sighed in relief.

After a quick shower, I put on one of my regular pants and a large beige t-shirt before going down for breakfast.

"Here, we've made you coffee." Orion passed me my cup as soon as I sat down beside him.

I inhaled in the scent with closed eyes, my nerves almost relaxing soon after. How I loved coffee.

I stacked my plate with four medium-sized pancakes, their savory taste just reminding me of how I'd missed Orion's cooking.
