"Isn't it stunning?"

Devika asked, admiring the sky in hues of gold and orange, a sight that had always awed her.

She had taken him to Sinhagad Fort, eager to share one of her favorite spots from childhood—the breathtaking sunrise that painted the sky in beautiful shades of red. And she thought he would like it.

There was something about the man beside her.

Chandrakant had lingered in her mind long after they had all left Nishita's home. She couldn't shake off the memory of how his eyes had devoured her when she had tried to play him. There had been hunger, so fucking full of passion twinkling in his majestic eyes that had stirred something deep within her body.

Devika was no stranger to the world of dating and men's perceptions.

She had encountered her fair share of men who viewed her solely through the lens of crude beauty standards, failing to appreciate her for who she truly was. Standing unusually tall and bold; neither she nor Nishita conformed to the typical Indian beauty standards of being petite and fair. While her best friend was still considered more attractive due to her lean figure and somewhat fair skin, Devika's experiences had made her understand that she was nothing but an object of sensuality and known to exude extreme sex appeal.

Despite her charisma, she didn't see herself as an ideal candidate for love or a desirable option in the marriage market.

Perhaps there was truth in it; who would truly love her, anyway?

So, when this cursed man crossed her path, she was determined not to waste much time dwelling on him.

No love, just benefits.

"Not as much as you."

Corny shit!

The back of her neck heated from his response but she knew better that her skin hid her flustered skin well. Melanin worked magic in a situation like this, where her blush couldn't embarrass her further. She maintained her facade of nonchalance, perfectly executing her 'I don't care' attitude, refusing to let his words faze her.

She turned to him, asking directly, "What do you want?"

Why complicate matters when they both desired the same thing from each other?

As her eyes traced his form, a surge of warmth engulfed her, the rush of heat flooding her core. He possessed the body of the most exquisite man she could imagine. A sculpted figure of six feet, full of chiseled muscle. Wrapped in golden caramel skin, he resembled Arjuna stepping out of the Dvapara Yug just for her and she was nothing but his Ulupi, alluring him to break his celibacy for her.

To add to the intensity, he was clad in a snug black t-shirt and shorts, every contour of his body exuding pure raw masculinity. His wavy black hair was tousled in a natural, carefree manner, adding to his rugged charm.

Oh, how she craved for her fingers to glide through them, to tug at them with a force that would draw a deep, satisfying groan from him.

Fucking hell!

With such irresistible looks, he must have had plenty of women crying to please him, to warm his bed.

"Huh?" She heard him say.

Fluttering her eyes, she stared at him. Her lips felt parched from her hot imagination and she licked her lips. This had to end, she wouldn't sit there and beat around the bush. "Perhaps, the answer is to fuck."

He stepped back startled by her comment, almost screaming, "What?" he blinked his eyes and looked at her as if she had accused him of murder. "That's not the only thing that goes in my mind!"

Confused, she inquired, "What do you mean?"

Chuckling, he replied, "You speak as if I'm in a brothel, negotiating the price for a night... It's..." He shook his head. "One-night stands aren't my thing. I'd rather be in a committed relationship, casual flings are too boring."

Huh?

"Are you asking me out on a serious date?" She asked, letting her hair down from the bun.

The wind blew around them, tousling a few strands of hair, but she paid it no mind.

He stared at her. "Yes."

"Oh..."

His right hand, warm and tender, reached out to her, fingers delicately tucking the stray locks behind her ear.

Oh, God!

A/N

Well... Someone wants some action. *coughs*

Anyway, "Lucky Boy" suits this chapter, I mean if not Devika then who would sing 'Jaane kaun banega mera lucky boy...'
