Chapter 2

By the time she left the government house, it was close to 12:30 pm, after deliberating on which bank to go to, she decided it was going to be first bank,

So she drove off to their main branch here in kano, with the usual traffic in town, she always goes deep in thoughts on how she was before her whole transformation and after it which means now.

And just like always she still remember the first day it all started, right after her NYSC program which was exactly a year after her Bsc degree.

FLASH BACK

She was still the chubby curvy cutie she was, her friendship and Zullu still complicated same with Ali, but to top it all she and Abbas were now engaged to be married the following year,

She and Khalifa broke up immediately after their last paper, he left the country without a word to her, and she never heard from him again,

So with Abbas wanting to date her again, she reluctantly gave in, after he made series of promises to her.

Today, she was preparing to go to a friends house in the evening to check out some bed linings for her matrimonial home as Abbas wife, when Abbas father called her phone,

It was a normal thing because apart from being her future father inlaw, he was like a father to her because of Zullu and Ali,

He didn't leave room for questions when he told her to come over immediately, she had no choice but to make the 40 minutes drive to their house.

On her arrival, she was confused to see a senior cousin of Abbas ushering her direct to the main sitting room of the huge house which she knew from her stay there that it is only used for family meetings.

She was more confused to see the grim faces of their Dad, Mum, Ya Rahila, Zullu, Ali, Saneer, Ahmad, Abeed, Abbas who looks to be in tears and to her dismay Christiana,

Christiana whom everyone calls Christy was Youth copper when she came to Kano town, to serve and happens to be in that area, there one thing lead to another she became a regular visitor to the house and they all grew fond of her and even went into a relationship with Abbas,

Noori came to know of the relationship through Ali, Zulu and some of their cousin who obviously don't like Christy with Abbas,

Noori cared less because at that time because she had eyes for only Khalifa and after Khalifa Abbas told her that what he and christy had was just some fling and that there was no future,

She made the salam as the trained muslim she is, and everyone moodily answered, she squatted and greeted her future parent in-laws and the seniora amongst them,

Then she gave Zullu a questionable stare which Zullu replied with a sad smile

"Mahnoor" their father called after she sat down on a sofa, "i called you here because of very important situation you need to know about", Noori nodded as the feeling of dread settled in her, because Abbas was really in tears

"Everyone knows your wedding day with Abbas has being set", she nodded, she wasn't liking where this was going

"Noori, you are very kind hearted girl, i take you as my daughter and i will want no daughter of mine to go through what you will go through but i yet i would want no one to hide something like this from any of my daughters"

"What is it Baba" she calmly asked

"Yesterday, Christy here came with a grave news, that Abbas here impregnated her and that she is three months pregnant ",
