"Get some rest, I'll be back to check on you soon." Tristan gently kissed my forehead before leaving my room.

After I broke down to Tristan, he ushered me out of the hospital and straight to the house. I avoided eye contact with Rhydian as much as I could. He huffed and stormed away. I was kinda disappointed when he didn't follow and demand to talk to me. This mate bond is fucking stupid. I pulled the blanket up and buried my head under.

'You should at least talk to him.' Aurora whined.

'I can't...' I whispered.

'Well, you should definitely tell him about our past.' She advised. I huffed, blocking her out and closed my eyes, hoping sleep takes over soon.

We pulled up outside of a huge mansion, it was beautiful. There were cars lined up, waiting for all the wolves to exit their vehicles. It came to our turn and we were introduced. "Welcome to the mating ceremony. Amaris Thorne and Lucas Thorne from The Dark Wolf Pack." A guard announced, opening our door. I stepped out and looked up at the building in awe.

We went up the steps, taking a drink offered to us and went into the mansion. We sauntered through the mansion, staring at everything. There were two guards stood by some double doors. When they saw us, they parted and opened the door for us. We stepped through the doors onto a balcony. I placed my hands on the railing and scanned the huge hall.

The hall was full of hundreds of wolves, dancing, laughing and having a good time. "Aww, this is amazing." I breathed. "Isn't it, Lucas?" I asked, turning to look at him. He was gazing at a wolf in the crowd, they were staring at each other. I waved my hand in front of his face, trying to get his attention. "He's my mate." He whispered.

I grinned at him and followed his eyes to the wolf in the crowd, "Go get him." I beamed, pushing him gently towards the stairs. He took off down the stairs at a rate of knots and straight into the arms of his mate. I went down the stairs and into the crowds. A waiter stopped in front of me and handed me a drink, "Thank you," I replied with a smile. I took a sip and scanned the area.

Suddenly the most amazing smell filled my senses, a breath caught in my throat as I glanced around the room and locked eyes with a guy stood by an exit. He beamed at me and started strolling towards me, I waded through the crowd to get to him. He stopped in front of me, "And what do I call my beautiful mate?" He spoke with a husky voice, taking hold of my hands.

'This is the real deal, Amaris. Do you feel it?' My wolf purred.

I blushed and smiled up at him, "My name is Amaris." He placed his hands on my hips and brought me to his chest. He gazed down at me, with some much love. Suddenly everyone around us disappeared and his features changed. His eyes were cold as he gazed down at me, his lips turned into a thin line and his grip on my hips tightened to the point it hurt. I screamed...

I woke up, screaming before releasing it was just a dream. I wiped the tears that had fallen in my sleep, trying to catch my breath. I dragged myself up out of my bed. I moaned and held my stomach as I adjusted to the pain. I wasn't healing as quickly as I hoped I would. I wanted a shower but I wasn't sure if I could with my wound, so I linked Tristan and asked...

"Can I get a shower with this bandage on? If I change it after?"

I waited a few minutes and still had no reply from him. I huffed as I staggered to the bathroom then switched the shower on. I held onto the sink, leaning forward and focused on my breathing. I'm in so much pain with my stomach, I need something to help.

I tried linking Lucas but there was a block up and Tristan still hadn't linked me back. I whimpered as I slid to the floor as another wave of pain hit me. "I... need... help..." I spluttered through Rhydian's link. I didn't want to but I needed help.

Rhydian came bursting through the door and his eyes widen at the sight of me. "Amaris, what's wrong?" He asked, worriedly. I shook my head and tried hard to stop the tears from forming, "I can't help if you don't tell me what's wrong." He said in a soothing voice. "My... stomach." I choked.

He kneeled down in front of me, "Can I pick you up? I just want to lay you on your bed." He asked. I nodded my head, he stood up and switched the shower off. He bent down again and pushed his arm under my legs carefully, "Wrap your arms around my neck." He whispered, I did just that and my body was promptly filled with tingles and sparks from our contact.

My pain had subsided slightly, I'm guessing from the mate bond. I rested my head against his chest and sighed. He took us into my bedroom and gently laid me on my bed. "Can I look at the wound?" He asked, awkwardly. I nodded and lifted my shirt up.

He kneeled at my beside and gently started unpeeling the bandages from my stomach. I winced as the bandage stuck to one of the stitches, "Shit Amaris, how has it not started healing yet?" He whispered. I grunted a response before glancing at him.

His eyes fogged over, so I took the time to actually look at him. There was no denying he was gorgeous, even I could see that. He was definitely the definition of perfect.

I blinked a few times to regain my senses. He was gazing at me, a slight pink tinge on his cheeks. He definitely caught me checking him out. "Who did you mindlink?" I questioned, hoping to distract him. He coughed then regained his composure.

"Ezra. I've asked him to collect the pack doctor and bring him here." He replied. "Something isn't right." He muttered to himself. I sighed, then closed my eyes. "Maybe they coated their claws in Wolfsbane." He thought out loud. I shook my head at him but kept my eyes closed. "How do you know it wasn't Wolfsbane?" He inquired.

'We need to tell him if he's going to help us, trust him.

I took a deep breath then opened my eyes. He was staring at me, waiting for me to answer. "Wolfsbane doesn't hurt me," I whispered.
