Part 10 Going Home

Their last day.

"Good morning Kusuo, Papa!" Kurumi opened the sliding door wide open

"Is it time to wake up already?" Kunihari rubs his eyes

"Papa you still have bed hair as always" Kurumi laughed

"Where's Y/N?" Saiki asked his mother.

"Ah, after she cleaned her futon beside me, she went out to the garden with mother" She replied. Saiki then went out of the room to get himself a cup of drink. The moment he heard his grandma and Y/N chatting in the backyard, he can't help but take a peek.

He leaned on the wide opened door as he watched Y/N sweep the ground with an outdoor broom.

"Thank you so much for the help Y/N. I couldn't have finished this fast without your help"

[Ah right. You readers don't know, Y/N has been helping my grandma in this garden ever since we came here.]

"Look at all these flowers blooming. It's really starting to feel like spring!" She told Kumi while looking around, but her eyes stopped at one particular flower

"haha indeed-" She noticed Y/N looking at something. "Oh you have a nice eye Y/N. Those are primrose"

"H-huh?" She slapped herself for spacing out

"Those flowers are called Lily of the Valley" She pointed at another flower smiling at the girl

"oh... interesting" Y/N replied not knowing what to say.

"It symbolizes youth and sincerity, It reminds me of you" Kumi said and Y/n returned the smile

"You really know your flowers Kumi-san. Lilly of the valley. It might look simple but it's still a very pretty flower" Y/n said. As she turned around to face Kumi, another flower caught her attention. The work they did the past few days were making places for the new flowers Kumi wanted to plant that was give to her by her friend. (It's not seeds. Those flowers the ones that has bloomed with roots) "That flower... Sweet pea."

"Oh you know this one?" She asked, walking closer to it.

"Yes I do indeed. It was the flower my parents had in our garden. They told me to take care of it because when someone is setting out on a new adventure they can be given Sweet Peas to take with them and that Sweet Peas are believed to bring good luck, peace, and happiness." She took a pause "They said that they will take a flower each time they leave and preserve it so it will bring them good luck and happiness and especially that their daughter is the one who planted it.

When they died, since I can't live alone and I have to wait until I am 18 to be able to live there, I harvested all the flowers and used it for my mom and dad's funeral, because no one would take care of it.

Sweet peas also symbolise good bye and departure right? I gave them all of it hoping their departure from earth is peaceful." She said, "But Oh my goodness!! Tell me your ways on how to plant them properly!!" She ran next to Kumi

She is a good girl. She even admires the simplest things in life like that small flower. She is good for Kusuo Grandpa Saiki thought

What a poor girl.... That's alright I'll be her mama! Kurumi thought

Y/N had it tough.... You can do it Y/N! Kuniharu thought and soon after, the three started disappearing one by one

[Yare Yare... since when were they listening?]

"Ah Saiki You're awake!! GOOD MORNING" She waved at him with dirt all over her face

Kusuo's lip curved into a small smile [Good Grief. So filthy]
He thought but his small smile says otherwise

|| On the way home ||

After packing all the stuff, all of them sat inside the car. As Kumagoro(Saiki's Grandpa) is driving, the car stopped moving

"Ah We're out of gas" Kumagoro said

"What are we going to do? The gas station is very far from here" Kurumi said, sighing.

"Saiki, I'm pretty sure you know this is planned by your grandpa. How did I know? His tone not that you'd ask how I know anyway. But If he is so insistent, then perhaps let us stay?"

"No, we have school and I know you don't want to leave but too bad. Anyways mom, at the trunk"

They opened the trunk to see the gasoline can. And so the drive continues only to be stopped by another hurdle.

Ooohoo lucky me!! "That's unfortunate. I guess we'll have to turn back" Kumagoro said, pleased at the sight he's seeing.

"Grandpa Saiki, You sound happy" Y/n chuckled

"What are you talking about?" He grunted.

"I've had enough" Saiki stepped out of the car and so did his parents.

"Huh? Ku-chan you mean...." Kurumi said, expecting what her son's next move would be about.

"It's okay. I don't mind them knowing. They're family after all" He said standing in front of the hurdle. Kumi along with Y/N stepped out of the car too.

"There is something about Kusuo you're not telling us aren't you?" Kumi asked, catching Kurumi off guard.

"W-what are you talking about mother?" Kurumi scratched the back of her head while listening.

"I'm your mother, you can't hide anything from me. Don't you know, You always hide your thumbs when you're lying" Kumi grinned and then Kumagoro also left his car. "What is it about Kusuo? It's ok! Me and your father have lived long enough, we won't be shocked by most things." Kumi said smiling at her daughter to reassure her

Kumi took a deep breath in "Okay. I see... I'll tell you... Kusuo has psychic powers" As soon as Kurumi said that, the rocks that were blocking the road were lifted up, clearing the road. Both grandparents shocked contradicting what Kumi said earlier.

|| a while later ||

"Psychic powers?! Like a magician?!" Kumi asked
"Ok let us try again" Kuniharu said and after explaining everything, they are still shocked about their grandson.

"psst Saiki... I wanna know what your grandpa is thinking right now" Y/N told the psychic.

[What is your obsession with my grandpa's thoughts?"]

"What? He's cute and funny. Who would've thought within his cold facade, he is such a doting grandfather" Without thinking twice and just wanting this to be over, he lets her hear his thoughts

"That's enough. I understand Kusuo has psychic powers just leave me alone I need some time to think" He grunted and as soon as he turned around-

Are you kidding me?!?! Teleportation?! Doesn't that mean he could come visit me whenever?! What if he can also read minds? That means....he must've known my feelings. And does Y/N-chan know?

"Yes to all of your question" [In fact she can hear you too]

"Kusuo your grandpa is so cute" Y/N chuckled from behind him, preventing herself from getting seen. "I'll call you by your first name too now. I-if you let me" She whispered earning a small smile from the psychic

"Yara yare. Do whatever you want" Y/N covered her mouth while her cheeks were red from the cold. Or perhaps she is too flustered that her heartbeat is pounding too much for her to handle
