Bang Christopher Chan & Ryu Kala (ChanLa): a father and his only daughter

ಇ. Kala always knew who Chan was. I mean who didn't when you had been around for a long time and well respected among the trainees

ಇ. And Chan always knew JYPE had a trainee who had a wonderful voice that she called the secret weapon, but he never got a chance to meet her

ಇ. That was until one day, after a long tiring practice, just like a fate, Chan walked past the vocal practice room and heard a soothing voice in there

ಇ. Kala was a stuttering mess when Chan asked for her name

ಇ. After that awkward (for Kala) introduction, they didn't immediately become close or something, mostly because she was such a socially awkward person who didn't know how to make friends

ಇ. But every time they came across each other, Chan was always the one who smiled and greeted her first like a social butterfly he was. He'd be like, "Hi, Kala!", "Hello, Kala!" (in literal English and his Australian accent), "Annyeong, Kala-ya!", "Kala-ya annyeong!" (in literal Korean)

ಇ. Every time Chan spotted Kala alone during lunch, or when the trainees were practicing together, or at monthly evaluation, he'd approach her and make small talk because she was fun to be around once he got to know her

ಇ. She soon loosened up to him and once they got quite close, Chan was having a 'culture shock' when he first experienced how this girl could be so loud and energetic

ಇ. "Wait until she meets Jisung," Chan thought

ಇ. After joining the group and meeting the boys, Chan was still the only person she'd talk to as she still felt awkward with the others

ಇ. But Chan tried to encourage her to talk more and ease up to them. After all, he was the one who got Kala into this

ಇ. Chan to Kala is as good as her father she lost at a very young age
ಇ. Kala to Chan is practically his only daughter. In the chaos of having 7 sons, a daughter is like a blessing
ಇ. He raises her, he takes care of her, he protects her, he guides her, and any other roles a father figure does
ಇ. They always joke in another universe they are literal father and daughter
ಇ. When Kala lost her grandma, Chan really considered asking his parents to adopt her to be his sister legally, but Kala convinced him that she'd be alright
ಇ. In the end, Chan becomes her legal guardian instead
ಇ. In many footage videos, Kala often said she wants no one else to walk her on her wedding day but Chan

ಇ. If the boys like to tease Chan and reject his affection, Kala is the opposite
ಇ. She always defends Chan from the member's teasing and never once refuses his hugs
ಇ. In the times when Chan doesn't take care of himself, Kala does it for him
ಇ. She really doesn't like every time Chan underestimates and degrades himself. She'll be mad and start scolding him for thinking so low of himself when he's literally perfect
ಇ. You wouldn't wonder why Chan said Kala is his favorite child anytime he gets the chance

ಇ. If she has something to say, Chan will always spare his time for her
ಇ. Maybe of all the members, Chan knows her best
ಇ. It's not a secret anymore that Kala trusts Chan the most, even the boys know that they can't compare her trust to Chan and to them
ಇ. Kala is independent, she handles everything by herself. But with Chan, she can't help but rely on him so much

ಇ. Chan's family is really close with Kala, especially his mother and sister
ಇ. Chan always told her parents about Kala whenever he calls them
ಇ. So Kala was kinda catching off guard when she first met Chan's family and his mother already showering her with so much love
ಇ. They remind Kala every time that she is always welcome in Bang family

ಇ. If there's one thing you should know about Chan and Kala is he's very protective when it comes to her
ಇ. All of the members have their protective side for Kala, but this man is on another level
ಇ. Because she's the only girl in the group, Chan is always really really careful and considerate with her like a gentleman he is
ಇ. He always makes sure Kala is comfortable and feels safe around him and the members
ಇ. He doesn't hesitate to give a piece of his mind to someone who does her wrong, even if it is the member or the staff. And trust me, it could be more than a piece of his mind he gives
ಇ. Some of the moments Chan shows his protective side:
╰┈➤ Chan was the one who asked the company to give Kala a separate room for their dorm. It's not like he didn't trust the members, if anything he trusts Kala to them the most. He just thought it was best to get Kala her own room
╰┈➤ Chan always asks the staff for an extra blanket to cover her exposed skin when the stylist team gives her a short dress or skirt. Chan never protests anything Kala wears, as long as she's comfortable she can wear whatever she wants he'll protect her from any malicious eyes
╰┈➤ Kala's habit of being too nice to people sometimes wakes the alpha wolf inside Chan. He's very cautious of the people around her who use her kindness for their own shit
╰┈➤ Kala isn't the only one who can't go anywhere without bringing an EpiPen in her bag, Chan also has it with him all the time for precaution. He's very strict with the food the staff bring for them. He always makes sure there's no alcohol in it, and if there is, he alerts Kala beforehand
ಇ. Chan literally lost his shit when Kala nearly died after chugging a whole glass of soju thinking it was water. You know what happened next; he cried at the hospital and blamed himself
