the hospital room door suddenly flew open, revealing atsumu bent over panting while you stood beside him, perfectly fine. coach kai looked between the two of you.
coach kai "i don't wanna know what happened.."
you laughed and proceeded to sit beside his bed, putting the flowers you bought on a table.
"heyy coach how are you doing??"
you asked. atsumu finally stop panting and sat on the other side of coach's bed.
coach kai "i'm alright? I guess, could be better though. thanks for the flowers. the reason why i asked the both of you here is because, i don't think i will recover in time for your next match, so i reallyyy need you two to step up you know! be all captain like!"
you and atsumu both rolled your eyes.
coach kai "hey don't roll your eyes at me. i know you two don't exactly get along well, but that's gonna change now."
the both of you froze.
coach kai "listen to the disabled person right here please. and if its not for me, do it for the team! okay run along bye get out i'm tired."
coach chased the both of you out of his room. once the door shut behind you guys, you just stared at each other blankly.
"sooo what are we supposed to do..??"
you asked hesitantly.
miya atsumu "well you heard him y/n, do it for the team. let's go out this weekend."
"what? why?"
miya atsumu "listen to the disabled y/n."

once you reached home, you had no idea what to do. atsumu insisted on bringing you out this weekend and you were really dreading to go.
"maybe i can just say that i'm sick, i'm pretty sure he will believe it. or i can just block him so he can't contact me at all"
you ranted on the phone to keiji while pacing around your room.
akaashi keiji "y/n, i think it's a good idea to go. you guys have been on bad terms since first year, don't you think it's time for things to change?"
"oh my god why do people keep talking to me about change? i don't want things to change they're perfectly fine the way they are right now."
akaashi keiji "bub i think you're stressed about spring high, since your coach isn't gonna be around. it's gonna be alright okay? just learn to work with him. i've played with him a few times and he's not that bad."
"okay... thanks keiji i love ya"
akaashi keiji "love you too, go to sleep and don't think too much about it yeah?"
"yup okay bye."
