this entire week was stressful for both the boys and girls volleyball ball team, you had played 2 matches each this week but fortunately, the boys & girls team won both their games. currently, everyone was gathered in the gym waiting for either you or atsumu to say something, since prefecture finals were in a week. you were biting your nails while thinking of something to say while atsumu stood zoned out beside you.
throughout this week, he had tried to make the effort to talk to you, but it just seemed off. he hasnt been the happy cheery egoistic atsumu that you knew, and as much as you hated to admit it, you missed it. you didnt know why atsumu's attitude bothered you so much since you hated him anyway. he was just your co-captain in volleyball, thats all he'll ever be. right? just then, atsumu broke the silence.

"good job guys on today, you
all played well. remember finals are
next friday so you all have a week to
prepare. training days are on monday,
wednesday and we are adding an extra
joint practice on thursday so that
we can be fully prepped"
then he looked over at you

"y/n you have anything to say?"

"huh oh yeah um..
remember to rest well guys, dont
get sick drink lots of water. if theres
anything else you can ask either
me or atsumu. if not you're free to leave"
you all said your goodbyes and people started leaving the gym, you waved goodbye to osamu and suna while you just sat on the bench looking at today's game statistic on your laptop. atsumu sat down while taking a peek at your laptop.

"your serve today was crazy, still
not better than mine though"
he said playfully. you rolled your eyes at him
"yeah yeah whatever"
he laughed at your response

something"
"yeah whats up?"

"well... im failing math.
usually its no big deal but my
teacher said i cant play the finals
if i dont buck up... so im asking you
for help"

the smartest person i know"

i asked. im just inflating your ego
right now"
you laughed
"no no no, im happy to help
you, dont want your team losing
ya know. you can come to my house
to study"
