I walk into fourth period with Veronica's eyes following my every move, her eyes turning to slits. I look back at her and scoff, giving a subtle eye roll, "What now, Veronica," I mutter in a bored tone, ready to be 'put in my place' as I begin sitting in my chair, stopping when she approaches my desk.

"I told you to back off of Jullian and all you do is get closer? Dangerous move, Eleanor," She says, burning her eyes into my skin.

"Okay? It's not like he's your boyfriend or anything," I scoff, giving another eye roll before beginning to tap my foot.

"Well it's not like he's your best friend anymore- or anything," She spits back, making me feel as if my heart had gone to my stomach in a matter of mere seconds... making me nearly at a loss for words, "What's wrong Eleanor? The truth to harsh?" She asks, a grin plastered on her face.

"Wouldn't you like to know- seems as if you don't have feelings anyways," I scoff, "Is that why you sleep around? So you can feel something?"

Her face begins to redden as the class gasps, making her turn and glare at them all, "Yeah well everybody knows about your little text to Jullian. It may have been an accident but you know deep down you've been wanting this to happen. You're obsessed with him, Eleanor. You need to grow up and accept that he doesn't love you anymore, he's not yours anymore and he doesn't want to be. You're wasting your time, you're embarrassing yourself," she scoffs. Full of anger, I bite the inside of my lip to prevent from snapping on her, using every single bit of my energy to prevent myself. My leg starts shaking as the silence continues and I stand up the second Veronica opens her mouth to laugh. "What is it Eleanor?" she asks, laughing, "did that hurt too much?"

"Oh your going to learn about what it means to hurt-" I mutter, punching her across the side of her face before she can react. I begin to take a deep breath before watching her eyes slowly gloss over, making a grin come to my face, "Try talking to me again and it will get a lot worse than this, Veronica."

"You little bitch!" She screams and places her hands over her cheek."You will be sorry for this Eleanor, you do not know who you just messed with," she lets out a forced breath before grabbing her bag and storming out of the classroom. As she walks out the door the teacher stands there with an almost pitiful look before shaking her head.

"Eleanor-" she starts before I interrupt her with a sigh, grabbing my things.

"Yeah yeah, I'm going." I mutter, walking out the class- heading to the detention room.

・・・

As I open the door to the detention room I feel all eyes on me, the teacher immediately pointing to the sign-in board which I proceed to sign in on.

"What'd you do to get in here?" Someone asks, his voice catching my attention.

"Andy can you just... leave me alone for today. For a while," I mutter, taking out my earbuds.

"I just want to talk about what I did... and what I said. Please Elle- just let me explain," He pleads, his voice low as he looks to me, sitting 2 rows behind me. I remain quiet before giving a subtle sigh, which he proceeds to move up a desk- sitting behind me. I lay my earbuds back on my desk before slowly turning around- a glare placed on my face.

"Now you sound like Jullian," I deadpan, his face evening out.

"Do you know why I did what I did?" he asks, his right eyebrow slightly raising.

I give a low chuckle before counting the possibilities on my hand, "You can't control your anger? You were jealous? You couldn't deal with the fact he was saying sorry? Am I missing anything?"

"I was protecting you?" He says, a small scoff coming from my mouth as well as a subtle eye roll comes after his remark. He sighs before giving a guilty face, "Elle, please. I wouldn't have gotten suspended from the game just because I'm jealous," he mumbles, causing me to raise a brow.

"So you were jealous," I grin, a tinge of pink arises to his cheeks.

"That's not the point, it's that he's different... very different," he mumbles looking me dead in the eyes.

"Who isn't, Andy? It's senior year- everyone's different," I shrug, looking slightly away from his gaze.

"No Elle he's- bad different. He sleeps around and never stays with one girl. I just don't want him to hurt you-"

"So you think just because he said sorry I'm going to just let him in my pants?" I chuckle, rolling my eyes, "Thanks  Andy but I'm pretty sure I know that he wouldn't do that- he was genuinely sorry," I sigh- patting his arm, "thanks for looking out for me but- you're not off the hook. You are a fucking asshole."

"I know and I'm sorry okay? You accept his apology so easily but you won't even except mine?" he says in almost a whisper, making me sigh.

"I didn't even accept his apology, Andy. I just agreed that I'll let him try and make up for it, that's it."

"Fine. But you need to understand that he's different now."

"And how is that?"

"Just- come to a party with me... I'll show you," He mumbles and I almost burst about laughing- but manage to stop myself.

"If you think I'm coming to a party- you're hilarious," I chuckle, turning around.

"Okay I'll just show you then once I've proven my point- we'll leave," He suggests and I roll my eyes, plugging my earbuds into my phone, "And when you see you have to forgive me for what I did, and said."

"20 minutes... then we're out," I mumble, putting an earbud in- him starting to grin from ear-to-ear. "This might just be the worst invite I've gotten in my entire life."

"Okay, that's plenty of time."

・author's note・

This chapter is kinda booty, my apologies.

I edited a bit so it didn't go by as fast as the previous comments mentioned, which is why your comments are so essential for me to become a better writer!

When I first wrote this chapter this author's note mentioned how I have a trailer for this book, which I do. If you want to look at it you can, the link is in my author's bio, but note that the characters I chose then aren't necessarily who I envision now, if at all.
