" I don't come to tell you to change your music so don't tell me what to change," I said
He chuckled "keep that attitude up and see what happens you ain't too old for an ass-whooping," he said

I popped him in the mouth making him suck his teeth "shut the hell up and do the damn dishes" I said
He rolled his eyes and went into the kitchen that's when we heard rocky barking I looked at Josh and ran into the living room jaylin was choking
I ran to her laying her on her stomach and doing what my mother taught me when she coughed up I saw that it was a tiny earing
I lifted her up and she began to cry I patted her back until she stopped " I told you to stop playing with my earrings" I said
Making her cry more "shh it's ok it's my fault I should have never left them out," I said kissing her forehead
"is she ok," Jakova said with tears in his eyes
I told him to come and he laid on me as I held his head on my chest
"who broke in," Josh said with a gun in his hand
We all ducked down "put that shit back before somebody gets hurt" I said still ducking
He put the gun back and came back out
"she was chocking but she is fine now," I said
His face became worried as he came to her picking her up "are you okay baby girl" he said to her pushing her hair out her face
She giggled and nodded I kissed Jakovas head and told him to get back to the dishes.

I walked to the first table at the diner and rolled my eyes it was laylani and her crew when I got there they all stopped laughing turning
Their attention to me "what kind of drinks can I get for you guys" I said dryly
"can we get Fiji waters for all of us," she said
"This is the hood we don't sell Fiji water here can I get you something else," I said
"what do you mean there is no Fiji water," she said drawing attention to us
"Please lower your tone and just pick something else," I said
She sat back in her chair "okay well do you guys have sprite" she said with an attitude
"yes we do is that all," I said to her
"Yeah that's all"
"okay 3 sprites coming up," I said walking away
Into the kitchen were Brooklyn and miles were
"ooh I hate that bitch," Brooklyn said making miles laugh
"who doesn't," Miles said
I chuckled and got the sprites heading back to their table
"here you go, another waiter will come and take your order," I said placing the drinks down and going to my bosses office
I knocked "come in," he said
I walked in and he was on the laptop typing I sat down in the chair and he continued to type
"umm I was wondering can I take longer shifts I need the money," I said looking down
"you don't have to do that you work harder than any of those people out there I will higher the payment you don't have to work extra I know you gotta take care of them, badass kids," he said
Making me laugh "thank you so much I won't disappoint you," I said
" I know you won't and you're free to go, Brooklyn, needs to make up for being late," he said
I smiled "again thank you so much," I said he
Nodded and I left with a huge smile on my face...

I began shooting the ball at the basket making sure my form was perfect I dribbled under my legs and shot one last time before I turned around
I bumped Into someone causing me to fall hitting my hand on the floor
"Oh shit my bad shawty I ain't see you," he said
I winced in pain when my hand pushed on the ground to get up he extended his out for me
To grab I did with the other hand "you good you hit your hand pretty hard" he said
"Yeah I'm fine I've been thru worse," I said while I brush off my pants
"let me walk you home it ain't safe in these streets at night," he said
I smiled and nodded as we began walking to my house
"So what's your name," he said looking over at me
"my name is Mia," I said looking down
"well Mia I'm Legend," he said
I turned to him when we got to my house
"well this is my stop," I said
He chuckled at my nervousness "can I have your number "he asked
I looked up in shocked but quickly changed my face as I gave him my phone
"it was nice meeting you mia," he said smiling at me
before I could say something josh and Jakova came outside
"who the hell are you," Josh said
"he was just taking me home you know it's not safe out here at night," I said
Josh's face didn't change at all
" I respect that but she ain't allowed to talk to boys," Josh said
" I feel you the same way with my sis but Imma go, by mia," he said turning to me
I shot him a smile as he walked off I turned around to see two angry brothers I rolled my eyes and went to my room closing my door
I plopped on my bed I smiled at the thought of what just happened.
