Christian arrived at the building in giddy hopes of seeing Kylie. He pushes through the sliding doors and nodded at the woman in the reception. He's been his brother's constant guest, so he's saved himself from the hassle of the introduction. He paused dead in his tracks when he saw the elevator opening. A redhead appears from the doors, holding a box.

"Have you looked up the word "rest"? I'm sure this is a far cry from that."

A tiny frame followed, hauling a tiny suitcase out of the lift.

His breath caught in his throat.

Kylie stood next to Jessica looking so adorably snug in a white and carnation pink sweatshirt that passed as a dress for Kylie's size. There were carrot prints all over it and the hood has bunny ears. Somehow, it warmed his chest.

It was so Kylie.

They started heading to the sliding doors, freezing when they saw him by the reception desk. His mind went blank. Crap, he didn't know what to say.

Kylie lets go of the handle. "What are you doing here?"

"How's the migraine?"

"Bearable."

Jessica grabs the suitcase herself and snuck past him, giving them privacy. She juggled the box and the suitcase through the doors, then disappeared from their line of sight.

"You came all the way here to ask me that?" Kylie was too stunned to go after Jessica, thank God.

"Yes."

"And to flirt with the receptionist," she stated glancing briefly to the woman.

Christian shakes his head. "I came here to talk to you."

"Okay, cool. Good talk," she murmurs then resumed walking.

He blocked her way. "Look, Kylie, I'm sorry."

"Okay."

"Really?" His heart pounded in his chest.

Kylie looks up, her face stoic. "Yes. Now go ahead collecting women."

He steps to the side, earning a groan when he stood in her way.

"What more do you want? You had my first kiss, you had my second kiss, my first love, my first heartbreak. What more could you possibly want?" She fumed, her face bright red.

He fought hard not to smile. "I want the infinites except for the last part."

Kylie's eyes softened only for a second before she squared her shoulders. "No."

"Kylie--"

"Don't do this." She shakes her head, eyes suddenly glassy.

"Why?"

"Because I can't do this," she snapped.

No.

"Why?"

"Because I can't live with a broken heart forever. You can't come pretending to want to commit and then go on another quest for another woman the next day. I get that you've been in that lifestyle your whole life, so don't try to act like you're ready to toss it away."

"The only lifestyle I'm interested is involving you."

She blushes, then buries it down with a glare. "Says the guy who ravaged the city for it's beautiful women the next days."

"I know it was a dick move. I was hurt. I thought you went on a date with my brother for Christ's sake."

"It was a setup," she says exasperatedly.

"I didn't know then. Besides, you sounded excited in Chandra's story. She even told me you dressed up."

She scoffed. "Because I thought I'd be seeing the guy who kissed me nights before!"

Christian stiffened.

"That's right. I dressed up for you, not Matthew. He's like a brother to me. And as much as I tried not to fall for the wrong Parkinson, I still did. And I'm paying for it."

"Kylie." His voice softened.

She holds her hand up. "Don't."

"Kylie, just--"

"Christian, give me a break, please, I just had a migraine. If it comes back, I swear I'll never talk to you again."

He stood, baffled.

Kylie took the opportunity to walk past him. He was about to go after her but Jessica was already by her side, shaking her head at him with a murderous look on her face.

"Don't push it. I'm not your fan right now."

He expelled a breath as he watches her usher Kylie out of the building. He looked longingly at the sliding doors. He can't risk insisting his way to Kylie. She just threatened not to talk to him. Sure, he could not disturb her.

He could do that.

For a while.

But...

"How long does it meant by a break?" He turns to the receptionist who was fanning herself with the brochure.

"Sorry, sir?"

"You heard everything. How long should I wait?"

Her cheeks tinged red. "Oh. Probably two days. Migraine should be gone by then."

"Okay." He smiled to himself.

Christian didn't care how long or how much it will take to convince Kylie he's opening up for commitments. He once tried to get her attention which took months. Another round of those brushoffs couldn't hurt. He thought for a moment, then groaned. "I should've told her I love her."

The woman simply smiled. "I doubt if it would be of any help. She was still too angry and will probably reject everything. Tell her that the next time you see her. She would've cooled off by then."

Christian rubbed his jaw. "Really?"

She nodded.

"Can she forgive me though?"

The woman plastered a polite smile. "You can't stay mad at someone you love."

He nods. "Okay. Thank you," have glances at her nametag. "Rachel."

Okay, who knows Rachel Myers? If you do, you're a treasure. And I thank and love you with all my heart. Anyways, we only have a few chapters left. Probably five?

I can't believe I'm about to say goodbye to these two. I feel like it wasn't a long time ago that I said good bye to Kathie and Cadey. Ughhhhh.

Anyways, tell me what you think and don't forget to vote. :) Love you!

 :) Love you!
