"Can I excuse him?" I asked and Violet gave me a confused look which I just replied with a smile.

I gathered my courage to walk to their table and excuse this guy. I wanted to talk him about something and tonight is the right time. I noticed that they all gave me a baffled look and are trying to decipher the situation. I blinked once and looked at the guy beside Violet.

"Can you spare me a piece of your time?" I asked and the guy looked confused.

He later on raised an eyebrow at me and smirked. Why is that smirk irritating the hell out of me? I don't know but for some reason, it made me aggravated. A little annoying to the eyes, I can say.

"To what do I owe you with for me to spare a piece of my time?" he asked confidently which I found displeasing.

He took a piece of steak and ate it. I can feel the gaze of the other people on their table but I didn't care much. I want to talk with this guy no matter what. It's now or never and I'm not leaving their table without him. I will stay as long as that guy refuses to go with me.

I wasn't going to give up and I planned on waiting for him to say yes but his actions made me pressure him even more. He was about to hold Violet's hand but I stopped it by gripping onto his shoulder. I don't care if he is close to Violet but I don't like how he holds her hands. And it makes me want to interfere more if he does it in front of me.

The guy looked at my hand which is currently gripping to his shoulders. A little more longer and I'm sure that his suit will be wrinkled from my grip. He removed my hand by force and looked at me with disgust. What's with that arrogant look?

"I'd like to talk with you." I said nonchalantly and put on a smile to suppress my irritated self.

He stared at Violet first before standing up. He looked at me before going to the rooftop just above the banquet hall. I also followed and when we were already outside, he started irritating me again.

"I like her. So back off." this guy in front of me said and I couldn't help but grimace.

He must have sense my feelings for Violet. I'm sure he noticed at how I stare at them together every day when they're going home. That sight is not pleasing to the eyes and makes my blood boil. I can accept the fact that that Violet is just close to him but does he really have to pick her up from work every day? That's kind of a stretch if you are just friends.

"So what if you like her? I like her too, leech." I uttered and he faced me with a creased eyebrows before walking towards me fiercely.

"What did you just utter?" he said and held onto my collar.

I felt his immense strength through the way he was holding my collar. If we were to battle into a fist fight, I'd surely lose. I wasn't that muscular to begin with so battling with him won't do. But I wasn't planning on engaging in a fist fight with him.

"There's no rule that states I can't like Violet." nonetheless, I still chose to answer.

"You clearly drew a line between you and Violet. Why must you pick a fight with me if you already rejected the girl?"

I felt my whole body paused for a moment. How did he knew that I drew a line between Violet and I? Did Violet tell her about it?

Then that must mean she trusts this guy a lot. She trusts him so much that he even told him what was happening in her life. And that includes what happened between us. The mere thought of that brought pain to me and it felt like I went through hell and back. Why does it hurts so much to know that Violet trusts him so much?

"Drawing a line is different from a rejection." I said through gritted teeth.

"How is that different? Tell me that when pigs fly." he arrogantly said and turned his back to leave.

"Drawing a line means I'm asking her to wait." I said to stop him from leaving. He needs to know my reason too. Making a judgement just by hearing one side of the story is a trifle.

At least hear my side of the story. He likes Violet and I know that I would also believe her no matter what. I also know that he can just leave and not hear my side but I have this urge to tell him. To inform him of my perspective on this.

"Make her wait? Is that what you rich business men usually do?" he asked and I couldn't help but stare at him intensely.

"Are you a researcher? Stop spreading inaccurate claims, prick." I told him because I didn't like the way he describe business men. It was too much of an exaggeration.

"If you really want the girl, why must you make her wait? Getting the girl is what you must do." he snorted right after and fixed his sleeves.

"Is that more important than my self growth? Shouldn't I fix myself first before engaging to someone? If I was greedy I would've courted Violet already, but I knew that drawing a line was what I must do first." I defended because I stand by my beliefs.

"Stop making me hear trash, Mr. Montemayor. Don't hide on corners and make up reasons for your cowardness. I heard that shit a lot from people and I ain't gonna believe in them again." he didn't seemed faze and intimidated with me.

I couldn't help but be amused with this guy. He stood his ground and defended his side confidently. But I'm not packing up and letting Violet go.

"Fine. Let's see who gets her first. Will you, a vocal and open person get her? Or will I, who drew a line, get her?" I challenged but he just wiped off the non-existent dust on his shoulder and looked at me in an annoying way.

Even if he was just standing there, it still makes me irritated. He has this aura that makes me want to cripple his face and beat him up flat on the floor. But violence is not my thing. It's bad to do it.

"I don't go up against someone who isn't the same league as I am." he said and that hit a nerve.

Not the same league as he was? Who the hell does he think he is to answer me rudely? Doesn't he know who he is talking to? I had so much to say but I chose to stay silent and let him be. It's just words. It won't affect my standing. I can brush that off easily.

I was starting to calm myself again when he halted for a moment and looked back at me. He had that smirk plastered on his face and I just badly wanted to rip it off.

"Aren't you aware that you sounded like a piece of trash when you challenged me? Here's what you need to remember, Mr. Montemayor."

He put his hands on his pockets and looked at me in a pitiful way that made my blood boil again. Is he looking down on me right now? Is he seriously looking at me in that way? I can't believe with the nerve of this guy.

"Violet isn't a game for us to bet onto. She's the most precious woman I met, Mr. Montemayor and you have no right to talk about her in an indecent way."

He showed me his back again before walking away with confidence. He didn't even look like he just came from a war of nerves. He's strong minded and I now know why he is a doctor.

I was regaining the calmness inside of me not until he halted me again and threw a striking statement that made me want to land my fist to his cheeks.

"Tell me anytime if you want treatment for your filthy mouth. I'll give you an acquaintance discount."
