Amelioration

There is no Justice to justify
The crimes done unto her
There is no place to hide
He follows her into dreams
While the rest of the world falls asleep

She strives toward healing
Integrating, meditating,
Loving others so freely
Loving one's self without ceiling
And in doing so, revealing

Her love, and her light
Her bravery within
Being ravaged by his anger
And abundance of sins
As she hopes to someday feel safe again

There was no pain like there is now
He took darkness
And made it darker
She truly wonders how
Seeing him to his departure

She sinks into dark water
No rescue, no savior,
Borderline break-down behavior
While she is just someone's daughter,
The hell-fire gets hotter

Still so much love to give
So much kept for herself
Not enough to want to live,
But enough to ask for help
Understanding she needs something else

The push and pull, the ebb and flow
The rising tide, the setting sun
All completely natural
All efforts internal, few battles won
She sees it's only just begun

Restless night and anxious day
The mess she cannot clean
The madness always stays
The aftermath and her furious gleam
Paint a picture so mellow, so serene

Behind the sparkling eyes
And freckled smile
A storm lies within
It's rampant and wild
And it's been there for a while

Finally thinking she's escaped
She finds that she will never again be alone
Closing her eyes, she sees his face
Blinking into the past that he now owns
She is dying with such grace
