Music had always been your thing. However, you tend to listen to the same artists 24/7 and rarely look for or listen to new music unless suggested by a friend. Luckily, your closest friend Raquel absolutely loves to send you new music, and as a result, you've developed very similar taste in music.

Recently, you noticed, Raquel has been listening to a different genre of music. After looking up multiple artists she's sent to you, you've discovered "hyperpop." It's definitely a more alternative genre of music, you've concluded.

It's unlike anything you've heard before. You have taken a strong liking to it. More specifically in the artist titled "Glaive." His older songs are your favorite. Something about it reminds you of summer a few years ago. It's nostalgic in a way, even though you've never listened to him until this recent few months.

Raquel also sent you other hyperpop artists, but nobody resonated with you quite like Glaive did. You mentioned this to her and she brought up the idea of going to one of his concerts whenever he visits your state. Indifferently, you told her you would think about it if the opportunity arrived.

It's not like you weren't a very social person, because you were. It wasn't that. People didn't intimidate you, but the thought of thousands of them surrounding you, screaming in your ears sort of repulsed you.

Like you said, you did think about it. Maybe it would be worth it. You had enough money for it. Not because you're rich or anything. Working part time in your local mall didn't exactly give you a well-off lifestyle.. but your spending habits were incredible. You never once splurged on shopping sprees or bought unnecessarily expensive items that you didn't need. Of course, you treated yourself from time to time, but you were smart enough to deposit most of your paycheck into your savings account after taking care of groceries and bills. Whenever you needed or really wanted something that wasn't in the budget you almost always had enough. You could even pay for Raquel's ticket if she didn't have enough to buy her own.

On top of that, the experience would definitely be memorable. Plus, what's the harm in having a little fun? If it got too loud, you could bring earplugs to muffle the noise a bit, and if something went wrong you could always leave. Raquel would be right there beside you the whole time. Nothing could go wrong. You've got nothing to lose. Now, to talk to Raquel. It was too late to text her now so you went to sleep, knowing you'd see her tomorrow and you could talk to her then.

~~

"Heyyyyyy!" You look up from the register to see Raquel smiling at you, twirling her car keys in her hand. "Oh, Hi!" You greet her and smile back. "Only like 5 more minutes, I don't think anyone else is coming in soon anyways." You say, walking out from behind the counter with a few products to restock before you leave. "Alright!"

"Hey I've been wanting to talk to you about something." You say, smiling at her over your shoulder shortly after putting away the last of the products you were holding. "Yeah? What's up?" She asks. "I was thinking that, we should go to a Glaive concert next time he comes here. I'm not too sure when his next tour is though.. I haven't checked." Raquel looks beyond ecstatic. "Oh my god!" She squeals. In her excitement, she accidentally drops her keys.

She picked them back up quickly before grabbing your hand and leading you out of the store and through the food court of the mall, towards the exit. "I can't believe this. Quick, check your phone and see if he's on tour anytime soon. He has to be, It's summer!" She drags you out of the double doors as you frantically attempt to type.

"Raquel this is going to sound crazy." You say laughing. "He's coming to Arizona on the 24th." You can hear the cogs turning in Raquels brain and see her silently counting before she blurts. "2 weeks!" She replies happily while unlocking the doors of her car for the both of you. "Good job."

"I know! Want to grab something to eat?" She says. "We just left the foot court?" "I know but I really want Dairy Queen." She whines. "Sure let's go, I don't have a choice anyways, you're the one driving." "Oh thats right. Well anyways hurry up and buy tickets as soon as possible if they're on sale right now, I can Cashapp you the money for mine. I'm so excited!" You pull out your phone again and navigate to the tour website, buying tickets as close to the stage as you can comfortably afford. "$70 a ticket.. I don't know if thats expensive or not." You tell her. "I don't really know either to be honest.. but at least they're affordable!" She replied to you, pulling up to the drive thru and ordering for both of you.

She hands you your food and pulls over so you can eat and talk. "I bought them. I'm scared and excited at the same time." You say before putting your phone into your pocket and beginning to eat. "It's going to be fun don't worry!" "I hope you're right." You both enjoy your meal and she drops you off at your apartment complex before driving home.

Once you settle in and get comfortably changed out of your work clothes, Anxiety wins and you decide to rehearse some lyrics so you don't look or feel like a poser once you're there. After a couple hours, you decide to go to bed early and get a good night's rest. You fall asleep thinking of the experience ahead and how much fun you'll have, hopefully.
