Life is all about give and take and if you want something, it's always you have to make space for it first and let go of the things that no longer help you reach your success. Garvit closed the door to the spare room after keeping the video game box in a safe place where dust wouldn't cause much harm to it.

The door closed with a soft thud followed by a resonating click in the empty apartment, overlooking the busy town they lived in.

Every sigh and breath felt like ringing sounds, the silence was the opposite of the calming effect it should had.

His thoughts again went back to the gaming box that his mama had sent for him, maybe because he still loved his nephew like old times or maybe he pitied their family after his sister had left them to protect her own peace. Him being the youngest, makes him the perfect pawn to test their assumptions.

His dad wasn't home, he had informed in their family group chat about the periodic company lunch.

He knew his brother wasn't home as well from the look of the neat living space and empty space in the shoe rack that peeked out from the entrance hallway and living room divided by a beaded curtain. On most days, they both got home around the same time, the silence was deafening.

He was never the one to hold grudges, shaking his thoughts away from unnecessary thoughts, he decided to watch some videos for strategy-making of the upcoming volleyball matches.

He went inside his room and settled himself in front of the large open window where the sun directly hit his dark lashes kissing his cheeks.

.

The door opened slowly and after some shuffling, a soft thud indicated that it's been closed. Light socks-clad footsteps walked the hallway when they stopped and a door opened again, Garvit's room.

A hand tapped on his shoulder slowly and then it rubbed the short ends on his nape when someone called his name, he jolted awake almost from where he had kept his head on his folded arms.

He rubbed the corner of his eyes where it itched because of the dried tears, he wondered if it was from his crying in sleep or the strain in his eyes as they rested against his arms.

His fingers were still tingling from the weight of his head kept on them for too long when the kind face of his father came into his view.

"Hey dad", he mumbled in his groggy voice.

"Why didn't you have lunch?"

His father must have checked the untouched pots of food kept in the fridge by their cook, he realized his brother hadn't had lunch as well.
