Kanari Alizae Brown

"What you mean? What's making you say that? Talk to me baby." Sevyn was so confused. He had just seen Erica at Kanari's graduation, there was no way she had died that quick.

"Tank called me and told me that he drove past the house and that it was in flames. Then I tried to call my mom and she ain't even answer the phone bro." She sniffled, trying to keep her composure since they were still at the Stone's residence.

Bucking his eyes at what Kanari had just said, he searched in her eyes before pulling her into a hug.

Kanari was in such shock that she couldn't even hug him back. More tears just began to flow down her face as she stood there in Sevyn's arms.

Despite her mother practically ruining her preteen and teen years, she still had so much love for the woman; infinite love at that.

The poor girl couldn't imagine what life would be like without her mom. In Kanari's eyes, she was supposed to leave the world before her mother did, that's just how life was supposed to work.

As Sevyn stood there consoling his girlfriend, he heard Mrs.Stone call out their names, obviously wondering what the couple was up to.

"We'll be right there Mr and Mrs.Stone, jus' give me one second please." Sevyn replied, trying his best to stall for Kanari's sake.

"Let's go baby, you gotta get your money. I'll be ok." Kanari spoke, snapping out of her devasted state of emotions.

"We gone talk soon as we leave, I promise." He said, wiping her tears away with the pad of his thumb then sticking his pinky finger out.

Blushing from the warm lips that were placed on her cheek, she brung her pinky finger up as well, interlocking it with his.

The couple grasped each other's hands as they headed back to the dining room table with Mr.Stone, Mrs.Stone and their butler. The Caucasian couple smiled cheesy smiles before speaking.

"Is everything ok? Is four point nine million enough for you? We can offer up more." Mr.Stone said, beginning to panic from the constant leaving that Kanari and Sevyn were doing.

"Four point nine is more than enough, calm down Mr.Stone." Sevyn chuckled at how worried Mr.Stone sounded.

Wrapping up the whole process and receiving the money, Sevyn and Kanari were able to make their way back to the hotel as quickly as possible.

While discussing business with Mr and Mrs.Stone, Sevyn sent a quick text to his assistant, letting her know that he needed to be on the next flight back to Chicago.

Although he planned to show Kanari around Vegas and take her out, he knew that her mother meant more than all of that. On top of that, he knew what it was like to receive that call.

"How you feelin' mama? You know you don't gotta bottle up yo' emotions."

"I don't know how to feel, I'm all over the place. Then Ion' think she made it out alive because her location last said that she was at home. I love my mom with my whole heart, she can't be gone just like that bruh." She broke down, beginning to throw her belongings into her suitcase.

Walking up behind Kanari and refraining her from throwing anything else, he grabbed her arms and held her from the back.

"I know it's hard but you gotta think positive baby. She might've gotten out of the house before it caught fire." Yes, Erica being dead was ninety-nine percent possible, but he wanted to remove any negative thoughts from her head.
