"Why are you awake so early?" I asked, following the sound this early in the morning to find him throwing punches on the punching bag like a mad beast.

"I couldn't sleep, so I came here," he answered, holding the bag still.

I sat on the couch in front of him and watched him throw punch after punch, wearing a loose vest dripping in sweat. I couldn't help but feel a flutter in my stomach.

"You want to try?" he asked, pausing his punches.

"No, I'm good," I replied.

"Scared already?" he said with a smirk.

"I'm not scared; I can do it effortlessly," I said, realizing my words sounded braver than I felt.

Here you go then," he said, tossing the gloves to me before removing his vest. It's not like I haven't seen him shirtless before, but seeing him remove his vest made me gasp.

"Wanna take your words back?" he teased.

"Fuck you," I said, standing up from the couch. I punched the bag once, but it didn't even budge.

I heard him laughing behind me; I knew he was toying with me.

"Don't laugh, I can do this too," I said, throwing a punch at his chest. He caught it effortlessly, as if I were nothing more than an ant to him.

I threw another punch, and he continued laughing.

"My turn?" he said, holding my punch.
My eyes widened. Is he really going to hit me? No, he can't be serious.

"What?" I asked, seeing him put on the other pair of gloves.

"Yes, it should be fair from both sides. I guess you're new to sportsmanship."

Anyway, ready sweetheart? he said, throwing a punch at my shoulder. He didn't use much strength, but it still hurt.

"Ouch," I groaned, and he smiled at me.

"Your turn," he said.

I threw a punch with all my strength, and he dodged it, punching the other side of my shoulder.

"Ouch," I voiced out, embarrassed by the noise, but unable to help myself.

"You're so weak, Alisha," he said, and I burst into anger.

I threw punches continuously at his chest, but he didn't flinch or make a sound. Hitting him only made me sweat and feel weaker.

He laughed again, then picked me up and threw me over his shoulder, my face facing his back.

"You're training with me from tomorrow," he declared.

"No way, I don't have a death wish, and you're a freaking monster," I protested, hitting his back as he carried me stepping towards my room.
