Tears

When you cry
Because you're angry
It starts in your chest
And builds between your ears
Until finally the tears explode
Your nose runs and burns
Your eyes burn
Your face goes red
Scarlet with tears and anger

But
When you cry
Out of fear
It starts in your throat
Your throat closes up
It burns
It aches
And suddenly you're crying
And you don't know how to stop
Your nose is dripping
Your eyes are blurry
You can't see
You can't hear anything
But the things you fear
Playing
Over and over
Inside your mind
The tears are cascading
Down your cheeks
Drip
Drip
Drip
