Nürburging-Sprint

My parents and grandparents are here to watch me race in my home country

Nürburging is undoubtedly one of the most dangerous tracks and we all remember what happened with Lauda here

I wore my helmet and jump into the car, the rain started

"Can you hear me Michaela?" Hugh asked

"Loud and clear" I said

"Good" Hugh responded

The sprint started, I was 4th with Carlos next to me on 3rd place and I was fighting to take his position

"Mikky be careful please!" Hugh said

Before I could answer I lost the control of the car without crashing into no one and I was in the barriers

Fire

I could feel the fire around me and my muscles relaxing

"Take of your belt" Christian said from the team radio

I didn't answer

"Michaela!" He almost yelled "Talk to me"

I was busy enough to take of my belt and my whole body was burning

"I'm fine" I whispered

"She doesn't respond" Christian whispered to someone

Amazing

I started crying into the car trying to escape from this

I heard the medical team there coming to me

"Are you okay?" Someone asked yelling

"Yes!" I replied with my sobs

"Did you take of your belt?" They asked

"Yes" I agreed

"Try and get out" He said

I took a deep breath

Now or I'll die

I stood up and get out of the car with the medical team using the fire extinguishers on me

The crowd was screaming in happiness when they watched me

I walked into the car trying to take of my gloves

I screamed

"I can't" I said crying

"It's okay!" The doctor said "any pain?"

"On my knee" I said keep crying "I need Lewis"

"Lewis has to race! We are going to the medical centre and from there with an ambulance to Bonn for St John's hospital, it's a bit far away but the only safe hospital we can go" the doctor said

They took me to the medical centre

"Let's take of this gloves" The doctor said

He tried to move them away but he couldn't

"Your hand burn" he said and he walked away

He came back holding a tweezer to move away the glove

For the right hand I didn't have the glove on because I took it off to the medical car now they try to take me of the other one

I had pressed my lips together so I won't scream from the pain

When he took off the last piece of glove in my hand I let a small scream

"That's it" the doctor said "the nurse will take off your clothes"

A male nurse took off my suit and I was only with my bra and panties, they wore me hospital clothes

"First degree burns in your left hand and on your knee! You also need surgery for your knee because it moved from its place" the doctor said

Guess what!

I am not watching myself drive again

Lewis

I have a bad instinct about the race, maybe it's because Niki almost died here

"Radio Check" Bono said

"Loud and Clear" I agreed

It's lights out and I started driving, I was P7 and I could easily watch Michaela that she was fighting with Carlos for the 3rd place

I'm so proud of her

Michaela lost the control of the car and she was in the barriers with her car being in flames

"Red flag Lewis! Come back to the garage!" Bono said

"Tell the medical team come and help her or I'll do it" I yelled to the team radio

"They are on their way Lewis! Come back now" Bono said

I drove to the pits and I only wanted to hear that Michaela is fine

"Toto" I ran to my boss to ask for Michaela "How's she?"

"We don't know anything Lewis! I'm sorry! We know that she responded" Toto said and I looked at the screens

She was walking out of the flames and I let a breath of relief

Michaela's fine

"Can you cancel all my interviews after the race?" I asked Toto "Talk with Hanna"

"Okay go and race now" Toto said smiling "We have Red flag I forgot about it"

I was so stressed about what happened with Michaela

"I will call the medical centre and ask how she is" Toto said

He pressed the button talk with the medical centre

"It's Toto from Mercedes! How's Michaela Vettel?" Toto asked "Okay can you tell me the name of the hospital?" I sighed "Good! Thank you"

Toto looked at me

"St John's hospital in Bonn" Toto said "you end the race and you go there"

"How's she?" I asked madly

"She will have a surgery to her knee and she also had burn of first grades" Toto sighed "I'm sorry"

"Fuck! Where she had burns?" I asked

"Left hand" Toto responded

When the race ended I left as soon as possible to the hospital

I changed into jeans and a Mercedes T-Shirt to leave immediately for Bonn

I ended P10 on the race because I had no idea what has happened to Michaela and I'm not there to support her as much as I can

I arrived an hour later to Bonn and I called Seb to tell me where they are

I almost ran to the room

"You're fine!" I sighed as I watched her to the bed of the hospital

"Yes!" Michaela said laughing "I scared all of you a bit"

She had tears in her eyes

"What has happened?" I asked confused and I leaned to give her a hug

"I won't race anymore" Michaela said and she faced me "I won't race in Abu Dhabi never!"

"I-I don't know what to say!" I said sad "Peach just think that the health comes first and you have to protect yourself!"

"I know but race is my passion" She said

"You said you want to study something" I said smiling

She nodded

"You can ask if they have any empty seats to the University of Monaco for architecture and if they don't then I'll have a word with them" I said and I kissed her forehead
