“Joe,” I say, slowly. “Put the water gun down.”

“Savannah,” he mocks. “I won’t do such a thing.”

“Joe, if you spray me, I will shoot you,” I respond, backing away.

“Where are you going to get the gun from, Sav?” he smirks, coming towards me.

“Larissa!” I call out. “Does your dad have a gun?”

“I don’t know!” she calls back. Amusement clear in her voice.

“Can you find out?” I ask, desperately.

“No,” she responds. “I don’t want to be a witness of a murder.”

“See, Sav,” Joe pipes up. “No one wants to see this beautiful face dead.”

“Okay,” I say, and stop walking. “Maybe you need to tone that ego down?”

“Nah,’ he smirks, raising the water gun to my face. “I think it’s good for me.”

And then he sprays me. That’s when all hell breaks loose.

“My eyes!” I scream, wiping the excess water from them, before looking up at him. “Oh, it’s on.”

I run to Larissa’s veranda, grabbing two water guns that are already full before turning back around and spraying Joe right in the face.

“Payback,” I smirk.

He spray’s my chest. “Looks like you made the wrong clothes choice this morning.”

My eyes shift to my hot pink shirt, where it’s soaked wet and you can see my black bra. My eyes widen and I instinctively, cover my chest.

I look back up at Joe, shooting daggers at him with my eyes.  “I hate you.”

“Nah, you love me. You’re just too afraid to admit it.”

I roll my eyes. “In your dreams.”

“All the time,” he winks.

“You seem very perv-y today,” I observe, narrowing my eyes.

“He’s perv-y every day!” Caitlin informs to me. “He just doesn’t show it much.”

“And you choose today, why?” I ask, my question directing at Joe.

“Well, it feels like the perfect time, don’t you think?” he asks, and I immediately know he’s referring to my see-through shirt.

“I’m going to change now,” I inform him. “This is your entire fault.”

“You shouldn’t have stolen my sausage in the first place,” he chuckles.

I crack a smile. “It’s not my fault I like them.”

“Which is why it’s not my fault, that I sprayed you in the first place.”

I huff, knowing he won this conversation. He grins triumphantly, walking back to the chair he was sitting on before.

“Feel free to change now,” he calls to me, taking a bite of his sausage.

“Why did you invite me to this barbeque?” I ask, Larissa walking over to her.

“So you can have some fun,” she smiles. “And by the looks of things you did.”

“Yeah,” a ghost of a smile appears on my face. “I guess I did.”

“Your cousin is coming to visit today,” Melissa informs me, as I walk through the door coming home from Larissa’s barbeque.
