Ander, it seemed, was the only one who could sense it. There were so many omens hanging in the air, it was hard for her to breath. The moons seemed duller- the third moon didn't even rise for a few days. Flowers she had seen blooming days ago were dead, and paintings from the art cave melted. Everyone else insisted that it was just the wind shifting the warmth from the Sand Kingdom into their caves. But Ander tested the wind, and found that air from the Ice Kingdom was floating their way. Everything should've been colder than usual.

The omens made her fear, but the star's clamor made her terrified.

"It's probably nothing," Shore assured her. "Sometimes strange things just happen." Ander shook her head frantically. Something bad was coming. She could feel it in her soul.

"What have the stars been saying, Mea?" Ray asked, more willing to believe her. "Have they mentioned anything about omens?"

"No," she admitted. "But the day stars are whispering hideous things."

"They never shut up about horrible things," Ray countered. "Their opinion shook be taken with a grain of glass."

"Maybe." Ander offered quietly. Ray wrapped a wing around her and smiled.

"Hey, even if the apocalypse begins, we'll be fine." He joked.

Haze frowned. She had been looking for Boysen for two days, and no one had seen a sign of him. A strange emotion she was unfamiliar with was twisting in her stomach, and she didn't like it one bit.

"Stardust!" she called out to the odd Nightwing.

"Hey Haze." he replied. "What's up?"

"Have you seen Boysen?" Stardust shook his head. The strange emotion flipped in Haze and she groaned in frustration.

"Why are you asking?"

"I haven't been able to find him in days and no one has seen him. And now I've got this weird feeling in my gut that sparks up ever ytime somebody doesn't know where he is." Stardust stared at her.

"Haze, I think you're describing the emotion of concern." He began. "And this is Boysen we're talking about. He can handle himself." Haze raised an eyebrow.

"Boysen. Yeah, no he can't." She crossed her arms defensively. "And I am not concerned. I just don't want anything to happen to him."

"You're worried."

"Am not!"

"You are so! You are completely freaking out in worry because you're boyfriend's missing!"

"SHUT UP!"

"Not til you admit that you're worried about him!"

"I AM NOT WORRIED!"

"THEN WHY ARE YOU YELLING?" Haze glared at him.

"You are such an insufferable little-" Her words were cut off as a sharp sound whisked by her ear, and Stardust stepped back in confusion, clawing at his neck.

"What the-?" He held up a dart and then his eyes widened. "Uh oh."

"Is that what I think it is?" Haze asked.

"Unfortunately," Stardust declared, swaying on his feet. He stumbled forward and Haze instinctively caught him.

"Oh no you don't!" she urged. "You cannot pass out with me holding you! Cause with my luck, Permafrost will walk by and she'll have my head!" Stardust didn't respond, seeing as he faded into unconsciousness. "Dammit." Haze swore. She attempted to stand him up, just as something pricked the back of her neck. Haze swatted at it, only to find another dart. "Shit." she swore again, glancing around.

"WHOEVER YOU ARE, YOU BETTER BE A BAD GUY SO I CAN KILL YOU WITHOUT ANYONE CRYING!" she yelled out before dropping Stardust to the floor, stumbling herself, and falling into a deep sleep.
