At thirty-two weeks pregnant, Rory laid lazily in bed, staring at her wife.

"I can't believe it," Sadie muttered, tracing Rory's jaw.

Rory chuckled, still half asleep, "I know. We're officially married," She said, still feeling weird to say the words out loud.

She remembered the first night they were married, their honeymoon, everything. Even though they had been married for two weeks by then, Rory still hadn't gotten over the shock of waking up every day next to her wife.

The first night of being married, they laid in the motel room, the same one they had stayed in for two weeks after Rory fled her wedding with Noah. The first place they had ever slept together, the place Rory had announced her pregnancy, the place they had fallen in love without distraction. They were leaving that night for their honeymoon, but they figured that they might as well stay their first night as a married couple somewhere that meant something to both.

They were all alone, no one to bother them, nothing to do with work. It was their time. They truly believed that they deserved it, since, soon, none of their time would be alone. Soon, they would have another mouth to feed, another person to take care of. They couldn't be more excited, but they still wanted to take advantage of the time that they had left.

So far, they had been enjoying their time together.

Sure, they were always alone in their apartment, but it was much different being newlyweds. The whole thing added a new aspect to their lives, a new reason to need each other so badly as if they didn't already have enough.

It was also the aspect of lying in a bed that wasn't their own, in an environment that didn't remind them of anything but each other. They were overwhelmed by love for each other, needing to express it in the only way that was passionate enough for both.

Rory remembered the way she ignored the calls from her parents the first time they were there. She wondered how she could do that since they had no way of knowing if she was dead or alive. She remembered not speaking to Noah, not apologizing, until they met in person, completely by accident. She wondered when it would have been that she would have talked to him if she hadn't been forced into it.

Rory felt that she had come a long way on the road to acceptance, from denial to adoption of her new identity, marrying her wife.

After they got married, they were able to spend as much time as they wanted by each other's side. It felt like the two weeks that they had spent alone, just enjoying each other. They were all alone, free to do whatever they wanted.

Rory couldn't help but stare at Sadie, the most beautiful woman she had ever seen. She was gorgeous all the time, even when she was asleep. Rory couldn't believe how lucky she had gotten to have married such a wonderful woman. She was everything Rory could ever dream of being.

As they looked back at their time together, they couldn't help but appreciate it all. It didn't feel like they had rushed anything, because of the amount of love they shared. Sure, they had only been dating a few months, but they were ready to be married. Emotionally, they were ready to be together, 'til death do they part.

They couldn't wait for the newest addition to their little family, their baby girl. All her life, Rory had heard about the type of love that she had never felt before, and she believed it since she already felt so much towards the child growing inside of her.

They were getting closer and closer to her due date, only eight weeks left to go. Her baby bump was growing at a rapid pace. She felt like she could burst at any given moment.

They had returned from their honeymoon, now, and were back to work. Even though they weren't on a honeymoon, they were still in a honeymoon phase. They couldn't bear to be apart, which brought to light a handy - or, handsy - feature of working at the same place.

At night, when they would return to their apartment, they were simply happy. There was nothing left to stress about except things in everybody's day to day life.

Noah came by every few days, checking in, attending appointments, calling frequently. The three of them had been getting along even better since the wedding, where Noah had saved the day and allowed for them to get married. It was a turning point in their relationship with him since it truly shone light onto the fact that he only wanted the best for them, he wasn't out to ruin their relationship.

So, when they had another discussion about names, Rory decided to surrender her name and be the deciding vote between Noah and Sadie. Unfortunately for her wife, Rory sided with Noah, since she found the name Scarlett to be extremely cute. Sadie was upset but knew that Noah had won fair and square. She didn't press on the matter, mostly because she liked the name Scarlett, she had simply liked Lillie better.

So, they prepared to bring baby Scarlett into their homes and into their hearts. Noah's apartment seemed to be the most set up since he had a head start. Rory liked to match the things that he had gotten, for she didn't want to confuse the baby, who's time would be split between both places.

Finally, they were in a happy place. Rory couldn't imagine being any happier, it simply wasn't a feat. She had married the love of her life and would soon deliver their child. The apartment would be filled with the laughter of three happy people. They would be living their dream come true, something that Rory had hoped for since she was a little girl. Something that everyone wanted, but almost nobody got; a happy life, a happily ever after.

Sadly, they wouldn't get one either.
