We finally went inside to our separate rooms.

Actually, Jake and Sophie decided to share a room not because they like each other but because - they're trying to be economical around here - as they both said.

Yep, that's real smooth of them. It's not like they like each other or anything.

Addison knew what was up already and she decided to have a separate room.

But events took a whole new turn for me.

"I-i thought you said we h-had to do work related stuff?" I asked nervously because shat other kind of work does he want me to do in his room at night.

No, no, no don't get any funny ideas.

Daniel only looked at me with a smirk.

"Who says this isn't work related?" He said taking off his knee length jacket he wore earlier in the night revealing a black turtle neck underneath which I don't remember noticing because it looked like it was part of the jacket.

I looked around the room and my eyes lingered on the workspace where we usually worked but it was quite empty except for a new Apple MacBook which wasn't there the last time. A few things here have been replaced with new ones.

My eyes returned to him and he seemed to get the point.

"Fine... do you really want to work?" He asked me raising a brow.

"No" I mumbled.

"Good, because I actually wanted us to talk" He said rolling up the sleeves on his turtle neck and sitting on one the comfy white 5 seater cushion a few feet away from where I stood.

"Come, sit" he said tapping on the empty spot beside him.

I hesitated a bit before going to sit next to him leaving some space between us. He looked at me but never said anything. His usual cologne engulfed my nostrils in its usual glory once again and as strong as ever since the evening started.

"So..." he trailed off a bit awkward as if trying to find the right words to say.

"Yeah..." I said softly.

"I'm... I'm sorry about earlier, I shouldn't have done what I did... I just... I don't know... it kinda happened, I'm sorry for putting you in an awkward position" he said scratching the back of his neck and not making eye contact with me. He looked like he was guilty of an offense - which he kind of is.

"It's okay, I was the one who freaked out anyway. I guess I wasn't expecting it at all besides I was the one who kinda made the first move the other day" I said begging to look the same way he did.

He said nothing but then his eyes met mine.

"Can I tell you something?" He said looking straight ahead.

I nodded in response which I wasn't sure he saw but then he continued.

"Natalie used to be my girlfriend- shit, you already knew that" he said using his hands to cover his face briefly and looked at me but I only gave him a faint smile in return.
