There's A Joy That Can't Be Taken From You
The difference I've learned about happiness and joy is that happiness is temporary and often based on your feelings and how you see things while joy comes directly from the Holy Spirit. That's why it makes no sense to be happy when you don't like your circumstances but with God, you can be in terrible circumstances and be joyful. It's supernatural and goes beyond one's emotions and experiences. Joy isn't subject to circumstances but comes from deep within, a satisfaction unexplainable to the carnal mind but can only be found in intimacy and surrender to the Holy Spirit.
