We mature as we stop reading the word but also become doers.

We can hear and understand what to do. We can understand that we shouldn't do A B and C. We know the tips, tricks and advice but unless we truly apply the words in our lives we will remain stagnant.

To apply a word to our lives is different. It's easy to tell others to walk by faith but when you have too we easily shake. That's why we should try practising the word, practical tips and advice. How can we be faithful to God today? What has God given and trusted me with today?

James 1:21-23

Doers—Not Hearers Only
21 Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls.
22 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror;
