"I long to be alone
So that when I cry
I know it'll echo back

And when I hear my voice
Then I'll finally know
I have found a place
Where I can finally go
"Do you finally see?"
I swear it's what I'll say
"How far that I would go!"
"Just to get away!"
'Cause theres people that I love
But I'm not sure that they see
Just how their voices sound
When they finally get to me
And when there's no one there
To laugh down at my tears
And I scream, "I'm not okay!"
I'll be glad nobody hears.
But my voice alone is soft
And the echos are too few
To force away the thought
"They don't even miss you."
So I'm writing to someone
I do not really know
And I'm pleading to you, please
Will you follow where I go?
If I ever find a place
Could It just be me and you?
So when I scream, "I am a coward!"
You can tell me "it's not true"
And I haven't met you yet
But when I finally do
Don't say I'm not alone
Just tell me you are too.
For I long to be alone
But I'm scared of what it'll do,
Though perhaps I'll be okay
If I'm alone with you."
