"If I dove into the deep end,
Swam 'til my lungs turned into gills
And left my frozen household,
With all of its unpaid bills.

And I dug down to the sand floor,
Where the crabs dance left their mark
And the giant deep-sea squids,
Taught me to glow within the dark.

I'd glow colours of the rainbow
All throughout the deep-ends tide
And I'd guide all of the lost fish
To a place where they can hide.

And I'd ask the sleepy starfish
How he learnt to never stress
And the wondering jellyfish
How she had ever knit that dress.

And maybe then I'd finally know
Those cryptic stories of the deep,
And if the whole mass of the ocean
Was just a lonely mermaids weep.

For perhaps in a land so lost,
With creatures all alone;
I'd find the darkest depths of all
Were the ones that I'd called 'home'."
