"There is a voice
Inside the silence
That's begging
              To be heard.

Melting ice,
And splitting tree trunks
Just to get in
             A single word.

I hear it in
The wilted roses
Hoping on
             A dead romance

Left to dry up
On the doorstep,
Without
             A second glance.

I hear it in
The dead of night,
The sky
             Has much to say.

Stars don’t sparkle
Like they used to,
Was the moon
             Always so grey?

I hear it in
The pitter-patter
Crying out
             In storming rain

A million words,
Are pouring down
Can you hear
            What they are saying?

Listen closely
To the whisper,
Of violent winds,
            And waves rough.

Every voice
May sound different,
But they all
           Say; 'That's enough!'"
