Jennie groaned at the soreness of her body. Painfully and slowly, she moved into a sitting position. She stared at her surroundings in confusion. It was a fancy and lavish hospital room that was twice the size of a regular one.

She glanced at the IV drip that was connected to her and the different machines beside her.

'What am I doing here?' She asked herself, completely unsure how long she had been unconscious.

The room was virtually empty and there was no one else in it. The curtains were pulled back to reveal the bright morning outside.

Jennie sighed. She looked around the room for her purse and grinned when she saw it sitting on the nightstand next to her. She strained her arm to grab the purse, but to no avail. Slumped at her failure, Jennie huffed like a child.

"Fool, you should've pressed the help button." Lisa mused from the door. He had watched her strain to grab the purse that was too far for her short arms.

Jennie stared at him with her mouth agape. What was the Demon King doing here? And how did he have access to her room?

"Take a picture, it'll last longer." Lisa chuckled at her foolish expression. He stepped into the room with a bag of food in hand.

"W-What are you doing here?" Jennie asked, crossing her arms. Her eyes never left his approaching figure.

"Why wouldn't I come here?" He mused.

Jennie tilted her head. "I don't think we were acquaintances or friends." She honestly said.

Lisa paused in his steps. He stared at her, not believing the genuine statement that came out of her mouth. Were they acquaintances? Were they even friends?

"We're not." Lisa said, opening the takeout boxes and placing it onto a portable table.

Jennie was surprised when he placed the tiny table onto her lap so that she could eat in bed. She stared at the arrangement of healthy food laid out before her.

When Lisa handed her a wet wipe and utensils, she stared at him like he grew three heads. Why was he so nice to her? She thought he wanted her dead after what she did to him.

"According to the tabloids, we're a dashing couple that fled at midnight." Lisa mused when he saw the array of magazines on the tables. He figured one of the nurses probably left it there as free entertainment.

Jennie's head snapped up. What did he just say? A couple?!

She grabbed a magazine and her jaw dropped to the ground. Plastered on multiple big magazines and newspaper outlets were pictures of Jennie being carried by Lisa, with him holding her protectively against his chest. The heavy fur coat hid half of her face, but everyone who knew her could tell it was Jennie.

The headlines were atrocious.

"Is this Business Tycoon, Lisa Manoban's girlfriend?"

"Breaking news: Lisa Manoban spotted carrying his girlfriend out of Kwon Jin Ah's banquet!"

"The man that's rarely spotted with girls, Lisa Manoban, seen getting intimate with his lover!"

"How many days until the wedding?"

Jennie gulped at the last line. She browsed through the first few pages of the magazines and blew out a sigh of relief. None of them mentioned her name, but she knew her parents and grandparents would freak out when she saw these tabloids.

Just when Jennie was about to read more, the magazines were gently taken out of her hands.

"Hey, I was reading!" She yelled, glaring at him for taking it away.

Lisa chuckled at her expression. She pouted like a child whose toy was taken from them.

"You've been asleep for three days; you need to eat." He nodded to the vegetable porridge, carrot and spinach stir fry, and grilled chicken.

"I've been asleep for three days?!" She gasped, not believing his words. Oh no, she didn't call her grandfather!

She reached for her purse again but was blocked by the table.

"Lisa, can you get me my phone-"

"No." He frowned. Why wasn't she eating?

"But-"

"No. You have to eat first." He chided like a parent.

"It's important!" Jennie's hand clenched into a fist. If it wasn't for her fear of touching needles, she would've long removed her IV drip.

Lisa sighed and stood up. He grabbed her purse and pulled out her phone. Jennie put her hand out but instead of a phone being placed onto her hand, it was chopsticks and a spoon.

"Wha-"

"Eat first." Lisa said, his tone leaving no room for argument.

Jennie sighed at the stubborn man standing in front of her.

Lisa glowered at her, waiting for her to object his words.

She didn't.

Using her spoon and chopsticks, she began to eat like an obedient little girl.

Seeing her inhale, the food like it was air, Lisa blew out a sigh of relief. She was finally eating and putting some much-needed nutrition into her body.

Hetook off his jacket and placed it on the back of his chair. He sat down andcrossed one leg over the other, then leaned back on the chair. He sat like theDemon King he was, with the bright chandelier lights basking down on him.
