Chapter 31

Back in the summer of 2012, before Ash and Leigh ever met, a family came to the states from overseas because the father had a job to do, and they stayed in Ashland, Oregon for the summer, and their son heard about the drama camp and he really wanted to enroll for the first year of Drama Camp. Ashlyn remembered this kid, he was 17, He had a little sister, but she didn't want to do the drama camp. Ash was 27, Sean was just 7 years old.

This kid tried his hardest to say English words, but his accent was giving him trouble with his lines. But Ash knew in his heart he was very sure that he was going to say his lines correctly, and she was going to help him out. With her help, he got better, and in exchange, he taught her some words in his language. Ashlyn only knew a few words correctly, but at least she could greet him with hello and goodbye. She really was embarrassed as she just butchered them wrong, but he was so willing to make sure that she said it correctly; especially with his name, which she got down after a week.

They hung out together during the summer as she helped him practice his lines. They would just go for a walk, go to the park, find a secret spot; they would sit together and talk. They would have a blanket to lay down on outside at night and look up at the stars and they would talk or just lay there quietly as he would reach over to touch her hand, which she would let him hold it, just knowing that they weren't alone, nothing else. Sadly, his parents weren't happy about it at first because of the age gap between them, but as they talked with Tom and Carol there too, they were understanding that Ash didn't have many friends, or siblings, and his friends were back home and couldn't talk to them. All Ash was doing was helping him with his English lines as they were just talking and nothing more. Over the summer they bonded closer, knowing that they could never be together, that they made an oath that they would be best friends forever like a brother and sister. They were at their secret spot and secretly cut their right hands with a sharp blade, but small enough that no one would notice it, put their hands together, they made a promise that they would always be friends and stay in touch however they could.

Soon, the play came to an end, and he did wonderfully. Sadly, he had to go back home. His last night in America, he didn't care, he took Ash's hand and went to a room that no one knew about in the theater but Ash, and he kissed her. Ash knew it was wrong, but he was a really good kisser, but he didn't regret kissing her. He just knew that if he didn't do it, he would have played the 'what if' in his mind. So did Ash. They promised to each other that they wouldn't tell anyone.

After he left, it took them a few months before talking again. Over the years, they would get depressed; they would call, message, or Skype each other just to talk, which helped them out. Luckily he had his friends/brothers to talk too, but she only had Sean, Tom, Carol, and Leigh.

Now, seven years later, he was in a popular K-pop boy band, which she did get to know them over the years; and here she is now going to be marrying Harry.

Ash smiles as she goes back to her bedroom from Michelle's, shuts the doors, locks it, goes over to get on her laptop, logs onto her Skype account, and sees her friends that she made over the past few years. She goes through her friends' list and beams as she sees one.

She grabs her phone and she sends a message.

Ash- HEY... I know that it's been awhile since we talked on Skype, and it's night hours ahead there where I'm at, but do you have time to chat?

N- ASHLYN... of course! I always make time for my sister. It doesn't matter what time zone. We have chatted on the phone, this would be better anyways. I want to see you.

Soon, he calls her on Skype, and she accepts the call.

"Hello!" they say together with smiles.
