Everything she touch, she ruin. Every damn thing she just as much as breathe against brakes apart. If she were to hold an apple she was sure it would rotten away in her hands.

The little voices in Novas head was back. When she was younger she called them the angry people who told her everything she did was wrong. When she was seven she didn't understand why she had voices that criticized everything she did. She tried telling her parents, but they didn't see the seriousness in it. They brushed it of as her having an imaginary friend that didn't treat her all to good.

As she got older Phoenix started to see a change in her behavior from time to time. He was observant. When Nova turned eleven he saw the changes more frequently. Every Wednesday Once a week he would visit his sister with one thing on his mind, that was to observe her. This also brought the duo closer to each other.

Phoenix didn't want to tell anyone what he was doing, but Leana got suspicious when he had been doing it for two weeks. She thought it was strange and not very Phoenix like to leave the dinner table after ten minutes, without eating his food. She saw the pattern with him leaving ever Wednesday at the exact same time as Nova. If Nova sat longer he would sit too. When she was done she always went straight to her room. Phoenix followed. Leana saw the subtle glances he sent in Nova's direction.

After the third Wednesday Leana had to ask her son what was going on. Phoenix told her everything he had observed and what Nova had told him. Well not everything, he left out parts where Nova told him that sometimes she didn't feel like she fit in, that she thought her whole family was better of without her.

Nova hadn't told her brother this on purpose. Phoenix was no psychologist, but he had read a few articles on how to get a person to talk to you without having to ask specific questions. He stumbled up on a paper where he read that when a child does something that comfort her or him they will feel more safe talking about things they need to get out.

Phoenix had always known that Nova loved to play with Barbies. Once she started she was always in her own little world. Phoenix knew that at eleven years old, his sister might be a little to old to voluntarily sit down to play with Barbies, but he was willing to take that chance.

To his surprise, the first Wednesday he started with his observation he walked in on Nova playing with her Barbie dolls. Novas face burnt red when Phoenix had caught her in what she thought was a childish act. But when her older brother didn't say anything about it, just smiled fondly at her and asked to join she got rid of the thought.

It was through playing with Barbies phoenix learned that his little sister most likely was depressed and had been depressed for a long time. She was just extremely good at hiding it.
........

It knocked on the bedroom door. The sound had come frequently after she locked herself in.
"Nova, sweetheart. Please open the door." Orions voice reached her ears, but she didn't register what he was saying.

Nova sat against the hard, cold floor. Her back leaned against the door. She stared empty out in the dark room, the only source of light was her phone. Her finger hovered over her phone. She contemplated wether to call the contact information that lit up on her screen.

"Nova? Why don't you just unlock the door. We promise that we won't come in without your permission. I just don't want any locked doors." Carinas kind voice echoed.

After she managed to get out of her frozen state, she ran after Nova. She had tried to shout out her name to get her attention, but it fell on deaf ears. She was an arm length away when Nova reached the apartment. Nova managed to lock Carina out of the apartment complex so she got a head start up the stairs and to the apartment.
