"Whatcha ya moms talking about Ci?" I say entering the room.
"God David you scared the crap outta me!" She said placing her hand on her chest.
I walk further into the room standing in front of her as she is sitting on the bed.
"What fight is your moms referring to Ci?"
"Huh?" She said innocently.
"If you can huh you can hear."
She looked down at phone looking she was contemplating on how to answer me.
"I'm not gonna ask you again Cassidy."
"What happened to the transparency moment?"
"That shit went out the window when whatever this fight was is causing you to wake up in a constant panic. Oh and you tried to lie to me about it. I've seen them scratches on your neck too."
"It's not even that serious." She says as she gets off the bed to walk towards the door.
"Don't walk away from me when I'm talking to you Ci. Kill that disrespectful shit because you don't want me to match energy."
She turns around and pauses whilst looking at me in my eyes.
"I fought Chard."
"What you mean you fought Chard?" I say looking lost as hell.
That explains the marks. She came out with barely a scratch on her. I can't wait to see what Chard's ass looks like.
"Look, she put her hands on Ma and trashed the shop. I don't care about her trashing the shop because I can get that fixed. But once I saw how she did Ma, I lost it."
I was getting tight.
"Why ain't you call me Ci!?"
"Cause I had it handled!"
"Clearly not since you damn near having panic attacks!"
She rolled her eyes as I continued.
"You made a stupid decision that could have serious consequences. You know you still in school. What if Chard's dumb ass pressed charges or something."
"I was careful David Damn!"
"Were there witnesses around ?" I said getting closer to her face.
She responded with silence and looked away which told me all I needed to know.
"Then you weren't careful."
She's not understanding that I don't want her to get her hands dirty. I don't want her going back to her old ways because I know she doesn't either.
If she does it needs to be completely because she wants to and I'd support her.That's why I wanted her to let me handle it. I mean she's a still a student. She can't afford to deal with the consequences.
Plus, it makes me feel like she doesn't trust me enough to handle things when it comes to her.
I got her.
"You made a stupid decision based off of impulse."
"So now I'm stupid David?"
"Well you sure acted like you didn't have any sense and you lied to me."
"You about to piss me off."
"I'm already there so you might as well join me."
"Look the bottom line is I didn't need your help. Yes, I shouldn't have lied but I didn't need you on me."
"Oh so now me trying to protect you is being on you ?"
"I didn't ask you too. I never said I needed you too."
I ain't gonna lie and say that last sentence didn't hurt my feelings a lil but my pride would never let me show it.
"Kill that noise Ci, I'm not tryna hear all that." I say waving her off.
"Well it's the truth. I don't need you to save me. A niggas never done it before, I don't need it now."
"You really don't get it?"
"Get what?"
"It's not about you saving you Ci. It's about realising that you don't have to deal with shit on your own anymore. It's about realising that you gotta nigga that wants to hold you down, not suffocate you by keeping you down. I know you're used to being independent because you have to be, but I wanted to be there for you for the moments you didn't want to be."
And with that I left out the room.
I needed a blunt cause I didn't think I could take the way I was feeling sober.
I don't even know why this bothered me so much.
This is just a filler because I know you guys have been waiting on this scene.🫠🤭
