Lisa's POV

My phone call with Jackson was abruptly interrupted when Mr. Kang, called out for us to leave. I quickly threw on a beanie to keep my hair in place as I grabbed my phone and listened to Jackson's incessant chatter. I couldn't help but wonder if Jennie was aware of what happened the previous night.

As we walked through the hotel lobby, Mr. Kang's authoritative voice echoed through the bustling room. I followed closely behind Jennie, who seemed to be lost in thought and actively avoiding eye contact with me. Perhaps it was the weight of the events from the previous night that hung heavily in the air, or maybe it was the fact that Jackson was still on the line, prattling on about nothing in particular.

As we approached the hotel exit, Mr. Kang stepped in front of us to handle the final details of our departure. Suddenly, a voice called out to us from behind, causing all of us to turn around in unison. It was the same man from last night, and he appeared to be surprised to see Jennie there.

"Are you going out?" he asked her, his voice laced with curiosity. I watched as Jennie's eyes widened, clearly taken aback by his sudden appearance. She stopped in her tracks, and for a moment, it seemed as if time had frozen.

Thankfully, Mr. Kang's sharp voice cut through the awkward silence, jolting Jennie back to reality. "Jennie," he called out, effectively snapping her out of her daze.

"Uh, Jennie, I forgot to mention something last night," the guy said. He paused, brushing his tousled hair out of his eyes, revealing a smile, he is good looking, I'll give him that. Despite my discomfort, I couldn't help but notice how his eyes lit up as he spoke. "There's a dinner tonight for all of us. It's nothing formal, just a chance to gather and hang out. You should come, it'll be fun, and I'll be there too."

As he spoke, I rolled my eyes, glancing over at Mr. Kang, who appeared to be waiting for the guy to finish. I couldn't help but feel annoyed by this guy's obvious attempts to impress Jennie.

"What's happening?" Jackson's voice suddenly interrupted my thoughts. I had almost forgotten he was on the phone.

"The guy from last night is talking to Jennie," I replied, keeping my voice low.

"Sure, I'll be there," Jennie said, her voice cutting through the silence and causing me to freeze in my tracks.

"Lisa," Jackson's voice broke through my reverie, but I couldn't seem to find any words right now. My mind was still reeling from Jennie's response.

"Lisa, give the phone to Mr. Kang," Jackson repeated, his tone urgent. I reluctantly tore my gaze away from Jennie and pull the phone away from my ear, handing it over to Mr. Kang. As I did so, I couldn't help but notice Jennie's intense gaze fixed on the man.

"Yes, Jackson...alright," Mr. Kang said after a few seconds, his face grave as he spoke into the phone. He ended the call and handed my phone back to me. I couldn't help but feel a knot of apprehension tightening in my stomach.

"Jennie," Mr. Kang said, tapping her shoulder softly. Jennie turned around. "Jackson ordered us to take Lisa home. He told me to stay with you, though," Mr. Kang continued. As he spoke, Jennie's gaze flicked over to me, and I could feel the weight of her look settling on my shoulders.

For a moment, there was silence between us, heavy and oppressive. I could feel the tension in the air, thick and palpable. Then, without warning, Jennie let out a small sigh, and I knew from the way she was looking at me that she realized she had messed up.

I sighed too, feeling a sense of resignation wash over me. I looked over at Mr. Kang, nodding my agreement as the other guard led me towards the waiting car. Jennie didn't say anything, and neither did I. I climbed into the backseat and watched as Mr. Kang and the other guard exchanged a few words before heading back towards Jennie.

As the car pulled away, I couldn't help but look out of the tinted window, watching as Jennie's gaze followed us. The other guy was still standing beside her, a smug smile on his face, and I couldn't help but wonder what was really going on between them.

The entire flight was a blur of exhaustion and restlessness, punctuated only by the occasional flicker of in-flight entertainment on the small screen in front of me. I tried to sleep, but my mind was too preoccupied with everything that had happened in the past few hours.

When we finally landed, I felt a wave of relief wash over me as I disembarked the gate. The guards were waiting for me as soon as I stepped off, their faces stoic and unreadable. Without a word, they led me through the airport terminal, past throngs of travelers and bustling shops.

As we approached the main entrance, I caught a glimpse of Jackson standing amidst a cluster of guards.

"You look mad," I stated.

"I am mad," he replied, his tone revealing the underlying humor that failed to mask his annoyance. It was evident that he was still thinking about what had happened earlier.

"Well, don't be. It doesn't suit you," I said, offering him a small smile, hoping to ease the tension. He let out a sigh and nodded, taking my bag from me as we started walking out of the airport. The guards followed us at a distance, their eyes scanning the surroundings.

As we made our way to his car, he asked, "Where do you want to go?" I gazed out of the window, lost in my thoughts. "I don't know," I replied truthfully.

"I can treat you somewhere, food or whatever you want," he offered, trying to lift my spirits.

"I'm not hungry. Maybe next time," I said, attempting to force a smile. He nodded, understanding my reluctance, and drove us to their villa. I watched him intently as he pulled over, taking in the tense lines of his body.

"Stay here for now, so I can just call you out when I want to play," he said with a hint of mischief, eliciting a chuckle from me. We made our way inside, where we were greeted by their maids. He led me upstairs to a guest room, assuring me that I could rest for as long as I wanted.

I was lost in a deep slumber, my mind adrift in a sea of dreams. The next thing I knew, I was rudely awakened by a pair of paws on my face. I slowly opened my eyes, only to find Leo, my beloved cat, perched on my face.

"Leo, when did you get here?" I muttered, half-awake, as if expecting the cat to answer me.

"I asked someone to get them from the penthouse so you wouldn't be that sad," Jackson said, appearing in my line of sight. I sat up, rubbing my eyes, and noticed that Luca was sprawled out on the floor, while Jackson had Kuma perched on his arm.

"You didn't have to, but...thank you," I said, feeling grateful for his kindness. I reached out and gently placed Leo beside me, feeling his soft fur against my skin.

"I don't take thank yous," Jackson replied, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Let's go downstairs. I cooked some food, and after that, let's go play some video games. Your choice, so you'll have the chance to defeat me once in a while," he said, his playful tone making me roll my eyes, though I couldn't help but smile. I took his proffered hand and got out of bed.
